Alesha Dixon told him his performance was "overwhelming" while Amanda Holden said he was "by far the best opera singer we have ever had".

But despite the rave reviews, not one of the judges decided to give him a spot in the live shows – and those watching at home were furious – after another act did get one.

Taking to social media to moan, one person wrote: “Masuku was robbed of a golden buzzer tbh.”

A second said: “Innocent took my breath away. Absolutely divine in every sense of the word; already watched him twice. Just wow #BGT Thought there’d be a golden buzzer though!”

“What Judges why didn’t you press the Golden buzzer during Innocent !! That was amazing !!” commented a third.

While a fourth added: “Sorry??? The best Opera singer ever seen on #BGT according to Amanda Holden but innocent didn't get a Golden Buzzer.”

Elsewhere on the show, Ravi's Dream Team, fronted by an eight year old with a brain tumour, got the buzzer from a very emotional Alesha Dixon.

The group sang A Million Dreams from movie musical The Greatest Showman which left everyone in tears.

Explaining why she pressed the buzzer, Alesha said: "The golden buzzer is such a personal thing and I always say I can only press it when it feels right and you're such a remarkable young man."

The judges then got to their feet as the members of the choir, which comprised Ravi's friends, family, teachers from school, medical professionals and other children from the brain tumour community, hugged each other in celebration.
