GOGGLEBOX fans have been left scratching their heads after tuning into the latest episode of the hit show.
The latest instalment of Gogglebox started with a new change to the opening credits - but viewers could not work out why.
As the Channel 4 programme began, the usual theme tune was replaced with a new version featuring a piano.
The announcer had confirmed moments before that it would open with a "twinkly tribute".
But fans were left baffled by the change to the usual start - and one was even worried someone had died.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer asked: "Why have they changed Gogglebox theme tune, totally threw me off?! #fridaynight."

Another added: "Is the theme tune different or am I hearing things?"
A third penned: "Sounds like the Gogglebox theme tune has had an accident with an ice cream van."
And a fourth remarked: "That theme tune was definitely a different version to usual wasn’t it? I’m not going crazy?"
Someone else even wrote: "What is that new music? Thought someone had died."

Although Channel 4's mention of the "twinkly tribute" before Gogglebox started did not make it clear, The Sun can reveal the subtle change was to mark the return of a popular show.
Kodaline's Perfect World intro had been switched to a piano medley for the return of The Piano.
The Piano is back for a second series this weekend and several of the channel's most popular programmes have had their music tweaked to celebrate.
Channel 4 News and Countdown are also among those that will be featuring a new intro over the coming days.
Come Dine With Me: The Professionals will also receive a sprinkle of Piano magic.
Channel 4’s Chief Content Officer Ian Katz said: “The Piano is that rarest of things, a TV show that makes people feel better about the world after watching it than they did before.
"We are spreading a little of that musical magic by replacing the theme tunes of some of our best loved shows with specially recorded piano versions.
"Big thanks go out to the talented composers and performers who have made this happen and our production partners who are joining us in celebrating the return of The Piano.”
Claudia Winkleman will be back at the helm of the second series of The Piano when it launches this Sunday (April 28) at 9pm.
