Death in Paradise fans call out huge ‘missed opportunity’ after Ralf Little’s exit as they swipe at BBC spin-off series
DEATH In Paradise fans have flagged a ‘missed opportunity’ and taken aim at spin-off series Beyond Paradise.
The offshoot series follows DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and fiancee Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) as they move to Martha’s hometown of Shipton Abbott, Devon.
From there, former Death In Paradise lead Humphrey joins the small local police force.
The cast also includes Martha’s mother Anne (Barbara Flynn), DS Esther Williams (Zahra Ahmadi), office support Margo Martins (Felicity Montagu) and PC Kelby Hartford (Derry Girls star Dylan Lllewelyn).
However, according to some fans, another name ought to be fronting the line-up.
Viewers have highlighted the ‘missed opportunity’ of not having DI Jack Mooney as part of the Beyond Paradise cast.

Played by Father Ted star Ardal O’Hanlon, Jack was Humphrey's successor on Saint Marie.
The Irish-born detective stayed on the island for three years until he was replaced by Ralf Little's Neville Parker, who has now also left.
Unusually for Death In Paradise, Humphrey and Jack crossed paths before Humphrey left the BBC hit show.
Humphrey, DS Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert) and Officer Dwayne Myers (Danny John-Jules) met Jack when they came to London during a case.
Other viewers were quick to share their agreement, with one writing: “I still wonder if they'll bring Jack to guest star in Beyond Paradise. They had great chemistry together.”
A fellow viewer shared: “It would be fun if they brought Mooney on for some cases.”
Another commented: “I still wonder if they'll bring Jack to guest star in Beyond Paradise. They had great chemistry together.”
Beyond Paradise recently finished airing its second series, with the final episode including a polarising twist.
After leaving Death In Paradise, Ardal has since appeared in Derry Girls and series 13 of Taskmaster.
