Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult – All about the dark dance documentary on Netflix
NETFLIX is getting ready to drop several new shows during May 2024.
One of those is Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult which centres on the controversial dance group. Here's everything we know.
What is Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult about?
Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult follows the real life story of a group of prominent TikTok dancers that are trapped in a cult masquerading as a management company called 7M.
7M has previously been accused of being a cult led by founder Robert Shinn who is also the pastor of the Shekinah Church.
Allegations have included that he coercively controls dancers and isolates them from their friends and family.
Little information is available online but a Netflix synopsis reads: "TikTok dancers are trapped in a cult masquerading as a management company called 7M; as dancers and former members escape and work to rebuild their lives, they come together to put a stop to the cycle and heal."

Who stars in Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult?
Katie Joy Paulson, who goes by Without a Crystal Ball online, has claimed that she is one of the people who have created the documentary.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "I am incredibly proud to announce that the docuseries 'Dancing with the Devil: The 7m TikTok Cult' is coming to Netflix on May 29, 2024.
"Bringing this project to this point has taken more than 2 years of extensive work with producers, directors and working with the former members of 7m and Shekinah Church.
"Robert Shinn filed a lawsuit against me and others involved in the production of this series, in my opinion, to attempt to stop the production and prevent people from coming forward.
"While the lawsuits are still pending, his threats and legal action did not stop the production."
She then goes on to say she is "so proud" of all of the former members who will be seen in the series.
She added: "Their vulnerability and heartbreaking stories will be given a platform to fully expose the trauma and pain they endured while inside this group.
"Miranda Derrick remains inside the group. Public photos on Instagram with her family do not change the fact that she remains under the reigns of Robert Shinn and the team of mentors that control her career. Other dancers are also active in the group.
"I am hopeful that this series will shine a light on the exploitation that occurs in Hollywood. Talented dancers and entertainers can be targets for people with nefarious intentions."
Katie mentioned that Miranda Derrick is allegedly still involved in the group.
Miranda's sister and parents shared a video in 2022 where they voiced their concerns about the church’s association with the dance company.
They said at that point that they hadn't heard from her in a year, with her sister Melanie saying Miranda was not "allowed" to speak to them.
Melanie and Miranda used to post dance videos together on their Instagram under @wilkingsisters.
Miranda is known for being a dancer, choreographer, YouTuber and social media star.
She first rose to fame when she competed in the 12th series of So You Think You Can Dance.
