Gogglebox star reveals brand new project with EastEnders legend – and it’s worlds away from hit Channel 4 show
The star has revealed she's even written her very own music for the gig
A GOGGLEBOX star has announced a brand new exciting gig with an EastEnders legend.
Denise Van Outen has taken to social media to announce her very own one woman play.
The 49-year-old will be world’s away from her Gogglebox sofa as the show is set to feature her very own 80s and 90s songs.
Denise revealed EastEnders‘ Tamzin Outhwaite, who played Mel Owen in the soap, will direct the play.
The limited show will run for just two days on September 26 and 27 at Southend’s Palace Theatre.
She told fans: “I wrote this one woman play with Terry a decade ago and performed it In London’s west end.
“I got the idea from noticing a shift in how women’s lives have changed over the years with many prioritising careers over their personal relationships (often to their own detriment).
“I wanted to create a play that opens up the conversation “can we really have it all?”. I took my own trip down memory lane to add humour and heartbreak to make this a play about women for women.
“If you raved in IBIZA 🇪🇸 in the 90s,found yourself falling in love with an absolute wrong-un, or feel stuck in a stagnant relationship/situationship looking for an “out” This play is for you!”
Denise quickly became a fan-favourite on Celebrity Gogglebox when she first appeared with her now ex-partner Eddie Boxshall.
They split in January 2022 amid cheating rumours with Channel 4 viewers concerned for Denise’s future on the show.
However, the former Big Breakfast star returned with best pal and Blue hunk Duncan James.
