BLOCKBUSTER Netflix show Cobra Kai is returning to screens in July for its last ever series.
Cobra Kai’s sixth series will be the last instalment of the action-packed Netflix show, and bosses have promised it will provide a satisfying ending to the franchise’s legacy.
Cobra Kai is a continuation of the 1984 martial arts drama, The Karate Kid.
Set 34 years after the events of the film, Cobra Kai brings back a number of original characters like Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) while expanding the universe with new cast members and new stories.
Over five seasons, viewers have watched and Johnny and Daniel try to put their rivalry behind them, instead focusing on the next generation of karate kids.
Series 6 of Cobra Kai is coming soon
The upcoming sixth season will up the stakes for the young martial artists of the Cobra Kai dojo, who face the biggest competition of their lives.

“Picking up with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, our senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate,” the official synopsis teases.
Season 6 will hit screens soon, as it is set to premiere on Netflix on July 18.
The final series, which is comprised of 15 episodes, will be split into three parts.
Netflix hasn’t confirmed how it will split the 15 episodes across its three release dates.

Cobra Kai’s sixth series marks the ‘end of a legacy’
Back in 2023, Netflix confirmed that Season 6 would be Cobra Kai’s last.
Creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg released a statement at the time, promising that the final run of episodes will be the “biggest season of Cobra Kai yet.”
And, as the trailer for the upcoming series teases, the show will mark the end of The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai’s legacy.
“Our Day 1 goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined,” Josh, Jon and Hayden wrote in their statement.
It continued: “So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement… While this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger.”
Cobra Kai began as a YouTube-exclusive show in 2018 before eventually moving over to Netflix, starting with series 3 in 2021.
