THE vice president of Netflix has revealed the reasoning behind editing Kim Kardashian's segment in The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.
Viewers slammed Netflix after the uploaded version of the NFL star's roast removed the awkward moment between Kim, 43, and the crowd.
"Post edits are standard practice for comedy specials and happen in live broadcasts," Netflix VP Robbie Praw told .
"Whether that's subtitles, adding things or removing things that we can't do when it's streaming live."
Robbie understood the editing changed the overall authenticity of the moment, adding that watching it live adds to the fun of "not missing those things."
He clarified that the Skims mogul never asked for it to be edited out, adding that it's part of the industry's standard.
THE CLIP IN QUESTION
The Sunday night airing showed The Kardashians star being booed by the audience as she got up to the podium for her routine at the live event.
She immediately joked at host Kevin Hart, 44, saying, "Thank you Kevin. I know a lot of people make fun of your height."
The audience immediately roared with "boo's" as she looked around and stood there awkwardly for a few seconds.
"Alright, alright, alright," she said in an attempt to calm the crowd.

Once everyone stopped, she repeated the same jab to Kevin in an attempt to fully start over.
While the unedited clip may have quickly circulated online, Netflix opted to cut the moment out from the version that now lives on the service.
Instead, it shows Kim quickly getting into her bit.
Viewers were quick to slam Netflix for the editing choice, taking their frustration to X, formerly Twitter.
"What is the logic/reasoning behind editing it out," one person tweeted.
"@netflix y’all trash for this," a second wrote.

"There were rumors Coach Belichick was gonna be here tonight. Turns out he has some time on his hands. Look, at least when I was fired somebody else wanted me."

KIM'S ROAST
As for Kim, others thought the Hulu personality handled the uncomfortable moment the best she could.
"Oh my god! This was impossible to watch! I hope someone hugged her after!" one viewer sympathized.
"[Kim] should feel good about it. Screw them haters!" a second said, another wrote, "Poor Kim, people are so mean."
The moment didn't seem to rattle Kim too much, as she continued her segment without any hardship.
She even poked fun at her own public scandals and relationship rumors between her and Tom, saying if they had dated, she would just "release the tape."
Rumors swirled last year that the two had sparked up a romance following Kim's relationship with Pete Davidson and Tom's divorce from Gisele Bundchen.
The mom of four also mentioned her dad, Robert Kardashian Sr., who stood by OJ Simpson in his 1995 trial.
"Honestly, it's hard for me to watch people roast you, but I think enough of my family members have helped former football players," she joked.
