A LOVE Island star came under fire as fans lashed out at the influencer’s ‘dangerous’ body image.
Abi Moores, 26, took to Instagram to announce that she’s going on fitness journey.
In the video, the star showed her belly and wobbled her arms and legs to demonstrate weight gain.
Afterward, she played a workout video and then took to her yoga mat to follow an exercise routine designed to help you get in better shape in just a few weeks.
Many fans were furious with the video and criticized Abi for promoting negative body standards, suggesting she’s overweight when she’s not.
They feared this could negatively impact young girls who share a similar appearance.
One user commented: “All for positive workouts but please don’t wobble the zero fat you have on social media and show young girls that this isn’t beautiful.
“You have an amazing body and I’m all for you doing what makes you happy but to portray your body as fat isn’t not good influencing. Sorry to be a Debbie downer I hope you appreciate what I’m saying x.”
Another added: “Amongst a lot of other similar comments, I was also disappointed with this video and the message it is sending to young people.
“It worries me that my children might start following influencers like this one day. Use your platform wisely! Every body is different but you are an influencer who ‘influences’ young and impressionable minds who need to know that every body is beautiful.
“Why not use your platform to promote positive body images and remember who your audience is.”
A third penned: “Literally wobbling skin and acting like there’s something wrong with it. This is not the right kind of influencing girl. We don’t want our daughters feeling like this is a problem.”
Abi hit back and commented: “Everyone’s body is different and at different fitness levels, it’s important to show unedited bodies over social media no matter what size or shape.
“Many girls will have a similar frame and body type to me, just because I’m 5’5’ with a petite frame doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be allowed to show my unfit / untoned body.
“People shouldn’t be body shamed for being too big or too small.”
Abi rose to fame after her stint on Love Island last summer.
She entered Casa Amor and made it back to the main villa, before being dumped alongside Scott van der Sluis, who she was in a friendship couple with.
