Even before singing a note, the couple charming and charismatic, with Denise joking about her cancer treatment meaning she "lost half of her favourite boob", calling her breasts Thelma and Louise.

While it later emerged Denise was previously a winner of Channel 4 talent search Operatunity, fans declared the pair their winners for their stunning performance of Sound Of Music's Climb Every Mountain.

They were dubbed "positive in a world of negativity" and "what BGT is truly about".

Fans even slammed the judges for not giving them a golden buzzer, despite reducing them - particularly Bruno Tonioli - to tears.

But the stage is nowhere new for Denise, who on her official website shared a string of photos that showed her during her glam days, including her stint on Operatunity.

On stage of BGT, Denise noted that she was a redhead before chemotherapy, with her hair growing back brown.

Her past hair colour was shown in the photos, taking inside London's Coliseum Theatre, as she wore a green gown.

Posing alongside fellow winner Jane Gilchrist, the pair took centre stage with the English National Opera on the show, sharing the role of Gilda in a production of Verdi's Rigoletto.

The series was shot in 2003 - three years before she met her husband Stefan on a train when he hilariously asked for the time, not knowing she was also blind.

Sharing their love story on the BGT stage, Denise commented: "What are the chances of a blind man asking a blind women the time?"

Other shots on the site see Denise with a short, cropped blonde bob while performing in a strapless purple ballgown in 2014.

The pair have been sent through to the next round of auditions.

If successful, they will be put through to the live semi-finals for a chance of winning £250,000, along with a slot at the Royal Variety Performance.
