The Great British Sewing Bee in schedule shake up just weeks into latest series

THE GREAT British Sewing Bee is facing a major broadcasting change only a few weeks after the tenth series started airing.

The BBC reality show follows 12 amateur sewers as they face challenges in an attempt to earn a gold mannequin award - and of course bragging rights.

Fashion designer Esme Young and clothier Patrick Grant are presiding over the competition as usual, and have been judging each item of clothing the busy bees produce.

Series ten kicked off on Tuesday May 21, but now just three episodes in, the Beeb has revealed their decision to start screening The Great British Sewing Bee on BBC Two instead of BBC One.

This is because the Euros will be taking over the BBC One broadcasting slot.

This shake up comes after fans were already left infuriated by some of the changes made to the latest season of the show.

Viewers complained that the contestants are not being given long enough to work on their creations, resulting in shoddy work.

After the second episode aired audience members at home pointed out that it was the second week running where sewers ran out of time to complete their briefs.

During the winter sportswear challenge, this led to the competitors turning in outfits with  a wonky zip, an unfinished hem and an ill-fitting waistband.

Several people took to social media to complain that the amateurs should be given longer than 90 minutes to finish a piece of clothing, with one hitting out: "Just catching up on the Sewing Bee. Wish they gave the contestants more time - rather than bemoaning the garment isn’t finished/rushed."

Another added: "They need to up the time. I’m not impressed."

A third viewer also had harsh words for the new show host, actor Kiell Smith-Bynoe.

They moaned: "Sad to say I'm not impressed by Sewing Bee so far. The new host looks lost. The editing is very poor.

"Too much quick switching between contestants. Worst of all, most of the contestants don't appear to be able to sew. They're not given nearly enough time to complete anything."
