Audrey is Gail’s mother on the ITV soap opera and fans have been left concerned as to what might happen to her upon Gail’s future.

With Helen due to wave goodbye to the programme at the end of the year, Daran has now speculated that Sue won’t be long behind the door and suggested an exit could be imminent.

The soap expert, who has remained very close with many of the cast, took to Twitter to say: “My gut feeling is Sue won’t want to stay long without Helen. No insider knowledge, just a feeling.”

It sparked fan concern that Coronation Street could be met with two monumental exits as opposed to just one.

Some fans said it would be nice for the pair to leave together whilst others were left heartbroken at the thought of them going for good.

One fan reacted to Daran’s telling message by saying: “Heartbreaking but in a way I think I’d prefer if they left together.

“How do you part the greatest mother-daughter partnership in tv history? Like how do you even begin to write that?”

Someone else added: “I wonder if Audrey will go with her or something will happen to Audrey that makes Gail decide to leave or take Audrey with her and they leave together?”

Whilst a third penned: “Couldn’t cope without Aud!!!”

Daran has had a particularly close relationship with both Helen and Sue and has been sharing photos from the years of friendship.
