Here are TV Mag's six telly picks for Monday 17 June 2024...
House Of The Dragon (2am & 9pm Sky Atlantic)
As is more often than not in the Seven Kingdoms, we’re on the cusp of war as we return for a second series of this epic Game Of Thrones prequel.
More on House Of The Dragon
After Aemond and his dragon Vhagar killed Lucerys at the end of last season, Rhaenyra is a mother in the throes of grief, while Daemon is desperate to seek revenge immediately.
Over in King's Landing, King Aegon is preparing to burn Rhaenyra’s blockade of the rivers stopping supplies getting through to the city.
And despite calls of patience and restraint from his hand, Otto Hightower, he is also keen to set his blood-thirsty brother Aemond on all who don’t swear their allegiance to him.
It takes a while to get going, but you’ll soon be totally immersed in George R. R. Martin’s world again.
It aired at 2am and is available on demand, or you can watch it in full again at 9pm.
Bake Off: The Professionals (8pm C4)
The four teams from the last round battle it out for a place in the final six tonight, and while AJ and Petra are hoping for their third win in a row, it’s not going to be easy.
The chefs must create 18 cross-laminated pain Suisse and 24 savoury brioche doughnuts, before transporting judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden to the circus with a mesmerising showpiece featuring 160 individual choux buns.
Dead Calm: Killing In The Med? (9pm BBC2)
In June 2023, an overloaded trawler, the Adriana, capsized in the stunning blue waters of the Aegean Sea.
With approximately 750 migrants and refugees on board, including women and children, the tragedy resulted in over 600 people losing their lives.
Rumours quickly swirled that the Greek coast guards were responsible for the sinking, with reports of masked men in black shirts and fatigues.
This documentary speaks to various people involved - from survivors Mohammed and Abdelrahman to journalists determined to expose the truth, and British man Robin Jenkins, founder of Atlantic Pacific Search & Rescue.
A compassionate exploration of a complex issue.
Football Cops (10pm C4)
With Gareth Southgate’s squad currently playing in this year’s Euros, it’s fitting that this latest episode documents the work of the DFOs helping to keep England fans safe abroad.
The team are in Germany ahead of England’s clash against the country in the Nations League, but things get a little out of hand as fans get increasingly intoxicated in the sunshine.
Plus, DFOs attempt to apprehend a known drug dealer in Malta.
24 Hours In A&E (9pm C4)
It’s another busy shift in Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre A&E department.
Two-year-old Max has been rushed in after developing breathing problems.
While there, his brave mother Debbie reveals how her dream of becoming a mum nearly didn’t come true, after she was diagnosed with cervical cancer aged 19.
Meanwhile, 69-year-old Maureen has broken her ankle while looking after her grandchildren, and an operation looks likely.
Affecting.
The Masked Singer US (8pm ITV2)
Nicole Scherzinger's stint in the West End means that Rita Ora is in her seat this season.
Apart from that, it's business as usual, with Rita, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy and Robin Thicke trying to guess who's under some crazy costumes.
