FORMER Emmerdale star Ryan Hawley is making a return to the soap world in a brand new role.
The actor was best known for playing Robert Sugden in the ITV series between 2014 and 2019.
Fans were gutted when he quit the Dales as that signalled an end for the love story between Robert and Aaron Dingle, who viewers loved and affectionately labelled RobRon.
Ryan's character received a tragic ending, and was ultimately locked up for murdering his sister's rapist.
After a break from the drama of the soap world, the star is coming back with a vengeance, but this time to Holby City as he joins the cast of Casualty.
He will be welcomed to the hospital board as new member Jamie Cleveland in an episode set to air this Saturday.

Former EastEnders star Kellie Shirley is also set to make her debut on the medical drama as new psych nurse Sophia Peters.
This means soap fans tuning into Casualty this week have a lot to look forward to!
A range of dramatic storylines have been playing out at the hospital so far this summer.
One recent episode saw paramedic Teddy Gowan (Milo Clarke) becoming the victim of a sexual assault.

The traumatic incident took place while Teddy was on duty, after he and colleague Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson) were called to a hen party.
Spoilers have revealed Teddy will be taken aback in upcoming scenes when the woman who assaulted him comes to the hospital, looking to make amends.
However, she soon starts playing down what happened and complains her life has been ruined after being charged with assaulting an emergency worker.
Another ongoing plot thread is the whistleblower storyline, which began after a documentary revealed failings in the ED.
Shockingly, a staff member anonymously contributed to the documentary, leaving both fans and hospital bosses desperate to uncover their identity.
The actual culprit was revealed as Rida (Sarah Seggari), but in a shocking twist Rash decided to take the fall for her and was escorted out by security.
