Emmerdale fans slam soap for ‘wasting potential’ of new characters amid cast exits
Viewers have shared their thoughts following cast exits from the show
EMMERDALE fans have criticised the soap for ‘wasting’ characters’ potential amid cast exits.
It comes following reports that two characters will soon exit the ITV soap, both having joined within the past two years.
The Sun previously reported that couple Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) and Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) would be departing the village.
The actors have reportedly already filmed their final scenes for the long-running show.
some of the soap’s viewers slammed the cast exits and lack of development given to the characters.
One commented: “Nicky is the definition of wasted potential. Pretty decent bloke, actually quite fun, played off the family well…but he was never used properly.
“Nicky’s a Tate and could’ve been a meaningful part of the Village, but he got nothing of value.
“I’ll be honest, Caleb’s whole family feels like wasted potential. It’s either begging the Dingles for scraps or scamming Kim on repeat.
“Is this really why they retconned in new Tates? Just for this?”
Another fan added: “Same here. Nicky is a big loss of potential and short-sighted I think.
“With Caleb and Ruby settling into the village pretty well, it seems a big shame to cut out their son.
“There is definitely a place for him and I’m surprised they are axing him.
“Suni…he’s nice enough but I won’t miss him.
“It just makes the entire retcon with Jai and Rishi that much more pointless. Why on earth did they even bother introducing Amit and Suni when it was all for nothing?”
While a third penned: “Gutted about Nicky, but couldn’t care less about Suni.”
A fellow viewer added: “I really like Nicky, shame he is leaving, agree with others, they have wasted his character.”
