JOHN Bowe who starred in Emmerdale and Coronation Street has been forced to sell autographs for money.

The actor, who played Lawrence White in the Dales, said that he was charging a "filthy fee" for the signed merch.

John, 74, told his social media followers that he needed to make extra cash to "feed his family".

He has been selling autographs and selfies for £20 a pop to soap fans.

Taking to his X account John tipped fans off that they could pay to meet him.

"Anyone interested I'm at the London Film Fair at the Royal National Hotel in London tomorrow, signing autographs and having pictures taken for some filthy lucre so I can feed my family.

"Delighted to meet everyone. JB," he added.

As well as this new money-maker, he has been asking followers to donate cash via his Buy Me a Coffee site.

He told fans that things were "tight" in his household.

John's attempts to make more cash come less than three years after he made the emotional decision to quit acting after 50 years.

John Bowes officially quit acting during the pandemic to focus on his campaign against the lockdown restrictions, but what has he been in?

He was the Rovers landlord Duggie Ferguson on Coronation Street between 1999 - 2002.

His character was killed off after he fell victim to serial killer Richard Hillman.

He played Lawrence White from 2014 to 2018, before his part was given the axe.

His other credits include Warship, Secret Army, The New Statesman, Silent Witness, Dalziel and Pascoe, Tipping the Velvet and The Living Daylights.

He wanted to focus his attention on his campaign against the Covid rules inflicted on the country between 2020 and 2021.

The actor became known for his views against the Covid-19 vaccine.

John also joined the Reform Party to tackle the government's rules during the pandemic.

The father-of-six was on Emmerdale from 2014 until 2018 when is character Lawrence was killed off by bosses.
