EAMONN Holmes appeared to take a swipe at ex-wife Ruth Langsford as he accepted his TRIC Award.

The 64-year-old attended the annual ceremony yesterday following his shock split from Loose Women star Ruth, also 64.

Eamonn was seen struggling to walk after arriving at the awards in a wheelchair.

The broadcaster used a walking aid to go on stage and collect his gong for best breakfast show alongside GB News co-star Isabel Webster.

But it was during his acceptance speech that Eamonn appeared to make a dig at Ruth while opening up about his health battles.

He told the crowd: "I got two things in my back that I didn't want."

It appears Eamonn could've been referring to his chronic back pain and the well-known phrase 'knife in the back'.

He said: "I went for an operation a year and a half ago and it went wrong.

"I got two things in my back that I didn’t want."

Speaking about his split from Ruth later on, Eamonn said: "Eamonn said: “I’m not OK. This is not a good time at all.

He added to the : "It’s too early to say but I hope we can still be friends."

Ruth and Eamonn confirmed they were to divorce back in May.

An exclusive statement to The Sun on Sunday said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

Pals told how the couple drifted apart in recent months and Eamonn had moved out of the mansion they shared in Surrey.
