AS one of the most iconic characters in Albert Square, Dot Cotton is getting the send-off she deserves with an emotional funeral.

But after her death, the EastEnders legend will leave one of her nearest and dearest a millionaire. Dotty, Sonia, Lauren, Reiss and Charlie Cotton are all contenders to her fortune.

Dot's will is set to be read to her nearest and dearest in upcoming scenes of the London-based drama.

Actress June Brown died earlier this year and soap bosses have decided to pay tribute to her with an on-screen funeral tonight.

The real-life cost equivalent of Dot's Victorian terraced three-bedroom house in Walford has been revealed - and it’s extortionate.

Property experts calculated the prices based on valuations of homes in the local area, and taking into account other articles that have been produced on the subject in the past.

Other factors, such as inflation, were also taken into consideration, where appropriate.

Which? mocked up a fake advert, that stated: “Victorian terraced 3-bedroom house located in the up and coming London borough of Walford.

“Local daily market gives the area a real sense of community.

“Excellent transport connections just a short walk from Walford East underground station.

“May require some modernisation.”

The property would typically require a larger deposit of £218,750 (25%), and a higher-rate stamp duty tax could potentially apply.

June Brown, who plays the chain-smoking, bible-reading character, is celebrating her landmark 90th birthday today.

Dot Cotton first appeared in EastEnders in 1985, and, apart from a four-year break in the mid-Nineties, has been at the heart of some of the programme’s most memorable storylines.

Iconic plots include helping her best friend Ethel die, marrying Jim Branning and battling with her wayward son ‘Nasty’ Nick.

Meanwhile, June admits her future on the soap is hanging in the balance now that character has lost her job at the launderette.
