A Place in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton ‘in new relationship with married businessman’ and his wife is ‘upset’ by romance

A PLACE in the Sun star Laura Hamilton appears to have found love once again with a married businessman.
The TV presenter, 42, is understood to be in the throes of a new romance with business CEO James Pettigrew, 44, who is divorcing.
Laura, a mum-of-two, and James are believed to have been dating since January of this year, according to .
This is the Channel 4 star’s first relationship since splitting from long-term husband Alex Goward in 2022.
However, the romance has reportedly blindsided James’ estranged wife Jackie.
James and Jackie share two children together but are now experiencing a “painful divorce“, with Jackie left “hurt and upset” by his new partnership with Laura.
A source told the: “Laura has been dating James since January and they spend all their time together.
“While Laura has been single since splitting from her ex-husband, James is still married, and their relationship has caused his estranged wife Jackie a lot of hurt and upset.
“Laura and James have made every attempt to keep their relationship private but it’s been months and they’re so close now, they are fully committed to each other and making this work longterm.”
The new couple were seen getting cosy at the Scottish FA Cup Final where they enjoyed exclusive tickets to watch the match together.
James is currently the CEO of a company called Prospero, a maintenance company.
The new lovebirds have already agreed to mix business with pleasure with Laura signing up to make an appearance at a corporate event hosted by James this November.
According to the event, whilst there she will discuss the ‘impressive volumes of commercial recycling‘ by James’ firm.
It is the first time that Laura has gone public with a new romance since her marriage to the father of her two children Alex crumbled in early 2022.
At the time, she admitted she was “overwhelmed with sadness” after deciding to call time on their union after 13 years in a shock statement.
Confirming the split on Instagram, Laura wrote at the time: “This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.
“Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time.”
Alongside her message to fans, Laura shared an image which read: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
