Inside This Morning star Ashley James’ huge new London home as she asks fans for help after spotting issue
Plus the reason she packed her bags and moved back to London
ASHLEY James has given fans a glimpse inside her new stunning London pad.
The This Morning star took to her Instagram on Wednesday (July 10) and shared a carousel of snaps.
In a lengthy caption, the mum-of-two said: “We’re a month into our house move and I wanted to share how it’s gone and where we’re at as well as some realistic mess because I feel like we only ever see picture perfect houses on here.
“Firstly, I pinch myself everyday we’re back in London in a beautiful home.
“I don’t and won’t ever take that for granted! It’s been a journey to getting here since I very first moved to London when I was 18.
“I’ve moved here there and everywhere and had to move out twice due to financial reasons when I first stepped into this industry and after a break up.
“I never ever thought I’d be on the property ladder down here and I don’t take for granted what a privilege that is!
“Whilst I feel impatient to make our home perfect straight away, the reality is that we can’t afford to! Mortgage and childcare costs are a LOT so as much as I’d love to be able to renovate and decorate – we’re going to be going at a snails pace!”
She continued: “So far we have done the wardrobes in my bedroom and I love them! We want to use our carpenter to do all the wardrobes and playroom / living room cabinetry eventually!
“I think it makes such a difference to a room and more importantly for us – it means we can design spaces that allow us to maximise the space.
“We used @gingernestinteriors to design our wardrobes and our rooms – so I have an end goal in sight for our rooms! But for now expect chipped walls and stained carpets!
“One slight hiccup was the discovery that lots of our rooms don’t have ceiling lights.
“It’s fine for summer, probably not so great for winter! So we’re potentially having to rip things up!”
Last year, Ashley sold her period property in Essex for £1.5m after making it the “perfect home”.
Once the house was sold, she packed up with partner Tom Andrews, 33, and her kids to move back to Battersea in south London.
In a recent interview with The Standard, she explained: “I’ve lived in Battersea twice before but now I’m back for good.
“I grew up in the north-east of England, but nowhere ever felt like home until I moved to south-west London.”
The family moved out to Essex during lockdown but struggled to adapt to the new life after missing their friends back in the Big Smoke.
She continued: “I was a bit worried as people tend to do the opposite, but it feels like everything is on your doorstep and there are activities for them in the day and night-time activities for us.”
Ashley found back on E4‘s hit Made in Chelsea, in which she briefly appeared in 2013.
