John Bishop took to his Instagram page to reveal the time tweak

John Bishop, 57, was set to perform his Back At It stand-up show at the University Of Wolverhampton from 7pm on Sunday, July 14.

Yet those expecting an evening of entertainment may now be sorely disappointed, with the set moved to the afternoon to accommodate England’s 8pm kick off in Berlin.

John made his candid reveal on social media, with a video accompanied by the caption: “Regarding my show on Sunday evening… #itscominghome.”

In the video, the Liverpudlian spoke directly to the camera as he said: “This is a message to all the people coming to the show at Wolverhampton on Sunday.

“I’m not doing the show at 8pm, the show is going to be moved to the afternoon.

“You’re all going to get an email telling you the time.

“I know it wont suit everybody so anyone who can’t make it we’ll definitely give you a refund.

“But we are definitely going to move the time to Sunday afternoon cause there’s no chance I’m going to be doing it at 8pm because I’m going to be busy watching these boys,” before panning the camera to a TV showing last night’s game.

However, some fans were left hugely unimpressed.

One commented sarcastically: “I wish I had a job where I could change the time I start, at the cost of disrupting a few thousand people, to watch a football match. Fair play.”

A second quipped: “Good windup, because you wouldn’t be so inconsiderate to move your show to watch a game of football and for all the people that’s planed to come and see you for months just to screw them over, come on JB.”

A third then mused: “I always liked you. Especially your attempt at the Irish Famine as your chosen subject on celebrity mastermind. But now sadly the journey has ended.”

One then simply ranted: “Because of a STUPID FOOTBALL GAME.”

Yet other footie-lovers were much more appreciative.
