EMMERDALE star Beth Cordingly has addressed fan theories about her character Ruby Fox-Miligan’s secret daughter following Nicky’s exit.
Ruby, played by Beth, 47, has made quite an impression on soap fans during her first seven months on Emmerdale.
Recently she’s been front and centre alongside her on-screen husband Caleb (William Ash) as the couple has been on the outs with their son Nicky (Lewis Cope) who eventually left the Dales.
This storyline has led to a prominent fan theory that the couple has another “secret child” — a daughter who is about to appear in the village.
Many avid viewers of Emmerdale think that Nicky’s sister could be around the corner following his departure.
Sharing their ideas on Reddit, one fan said: “Do Ruby and Caleb have a daughter? I’ve heard a good few people talking about Nicky’s sister. When Nicky got into the car crash, some people were wondering if Nick’s sister would come to the village.”

Another agreed, writing: “Yes - maybe a daughter who has previously “divorced” herself from the dysfunctional duo could make an appearance??"
A third added: “With Caleb’s past, the guy must have a secret kid out there somewhere, right?”
As a fourth said: “Caleb told Leyla he had ‘kids’ but that could’ve been a lie.”
Before a fifth chimed in to say: “I was wondering where people got the idea that Nicky had a sister.

“I don’t remember any mentions of her and if he does have one, Ruby and Caleb clearly don’t care about her.”
While speaking exclusively to The Sun at the Soap Awards on Saturday, Beth responded to this strong fan theory, but made sure not to give too much away.
She said: “Well what’s really interesting is that we don’t know very much about either of their histories.
“So I know that exploring Ruby’s history is something that is going to be developed in the next few months, so that’s really exciting. That’s all I can say.”
However, Beth did also tease that viewers will get to see a lot more of Ruby’s darker side as she continues to manipulate Rose (Christine Tremarco) in her plot to take down Kim Tate (Claire King).
