Watch the adorable moment Pete Wicks tells best pal Sam Thompson he’s doing Strictly Come Dancing
SAM Thompson jumped for joy as his best mate Pete Wicks told him that he was taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this year.
Last month The Sun revealed that the former Towie star was going to show off his moves on the BBC show - and the rumours were confirmed yesterday on Kiss FM.
Sam and Pete have spoken about his latest TV signing on their Staying Relevant podcast.
The pair shared the clip of the moment that Sam found out on their Instagram page.
Pete told him that he had something to tell him, and Sam got nervous about how he was acting, asking if he "had a Mrs".
The tatted hunk told him: "I am doing something I think will make you happier than me."

Sam couldn't figure out what he was talking about, until he gave him a bag and opened it, to find the Strictly glitter ball inside.
He jumped up from the sofa and shouted: "NO! You're doing Strictly!
"He's doing Strictly! It's a glitter ball! You're doing Strictly."
Sam then jumped on Pete and gave him a hug.
He captioned the post: "The moment Pete made my dreams come true 😂
"I’ve never been so excited for something!!! The sequins, the tassels, the open buttoned shirts!!!
"I’m welling up just thinking about it 🥹 you deserve this mate. You’re an icon, and the best person I know!
"God the podcast @stayingrelevantpodcast is gonna get reallll good now when I turn up and record at your training sessions!!!
"I need to buy Pete wicks merch!! There’s a lot to do…so little time 😂 what a few months this is gonna be!!"
Many rushed to the comments section to share the love.
Anna Williamson, who helped the pair find love on Celebs Go Dating, said: "I am so so so happy about this."
Sam's girlfriend Zara McDermott added: "Love love love this so much 🥹😭🩷 xxx."
Denise Van Outen chimed in: "😂❤️😍."
Pete and Strictly co-star Tasha Ghouri joined Perri Kiely and Jordan Banjo on Wednesday's instalment of Kiss FM and confirmed the news.
Pete told listeners: "I'm Pete Wicks and I'm doing Strictly 2024."
He said: "It's a mixture of excited and absolutely petrified, it's fear, you can see straight into my soul."
The Essex lad continued: "Sam's planned every Saturday he will be at the show, Sam is the one person who will be there every single Saturday.
"He's making t-shirts, the guy really needs to get a life.
"He's my number one fan, when I say number one fan, he's like Martha from Baby Reindeer," in reference to the Netflix series about a stalker.
A source told us last month: “Pete has joined the Strictly line up and is excited to get started.

“He isn’t much of a dancer but that’s what the BBC loved about him. They wanted the show to feel more like it did in the beginning.
“Pete is also going to attract younger viewers who have followed his career since Towie.”
