Love Island’s Matilda takes TWO huge swipes at Sean Stone just hours after announcing split

There were cries of 'showmance' just days before the split

NEWLY-SINGLE Love Island star Matilda Draper has taken two swipes at her ex-boyfriend Sean Stone within hours of their break-up.

The couple surprised fans last night by announcing they’d gone their separate ways – just days after putting on a united front on the Not My Bagg podcast.

Though Matilda’s break-up statement was full of respect for Sean, there have been some subtle clues things weren’t as rosy behind the scenes.

Firstly she shared a stunning selfie from her recent girls trip to Ibiza sound-tracked by Prospa’s Motions, which features the line: “Going through the motions, please don’t play me like a fool.”

Then Casa Amor girl Diamanté, who famously clashed with Sean and Matilda during the dramatic recoupling episode, shared a picture on Instagram with Matilda.

She captioned it: “we’re like… so in love!”

Fans couldn’t help but laugh at the timing of the upload.

One commented: “Right after they break up [laughing emojis].”

Another said: “Posting this after their breakup is willldddd.”

A third wrote: “The timing of this [laughing emoji] petty.”

A fourth said: “Plot twistttttttttttt.”

Sean and Diamanté did hit it off in the sister villa, but Sean decided to stick with Matilda and then faced a verbal assault from his Casa squeeze.

After her exit, Diamanté admitted she was surprised she wasn’t picked.

She said: “I actually was, when Sean was giving his speech he said he was confused, and he was saying he found connections in Casa and as he was saying that I was thinking, ‘Are we about to couple up?’

“I think he chose the safe option to stick with Matilda. He’s perhaps not as genuine as we all thought he was…”

Last night, sharing the split news in a statement, Matilda took to social media and wrote: “Just wanted to come on here to tell you guys that Sean and I have decided to part ways.

“We are still good friends & I’m so grateful to have shared such an incredible experience with him.”

The couple had been plagued with ‘showmance’ accusations

She continued: “We appreciate all of your support throughout our time together and all the love you have shown us.”

Sean shared a statement of his own, which was very similar but had an extra line at the bottom which read: “We both believe this is the best step for us moving forward.”

Their split comes after Love Island fans claimed that the couple were faking their relationship three weeks after the show.

The pair, who placed third on the latest series, appeared on the Not My Bagg podcast to talk about life after the villa.

And despite looking very happy in each other’s company, some thought that they weren’t meant to be.

One said in the YouTube comments: “They don’t seem that compatible, I expect a breakup announcement in a few weeks after the hype dies down. She doesn’t seem that into him .”

“They don’t seem like a convincing couple,” another chimed in.

A third wrote on Reddit: “lmao. Its giving lights camera showmance.”

Sean and Diamanté's Casa Amor romance

At one stage it looked like Sean would return to the main villa with Diamanté – leaving Matilda’s fate in the balance.

He was also interested in Casa girl Ruby Dale, but Diamanté quickly became his favourite in the sister villa.

At one point Diamanté asked: “Do I tick your boxes then?”

Sean admitted: “I think I made the wrong decision not having you in my bed last night…”

Diamanté teased: “Well, it’s not too late to change it”

Sean agreed: “Mmm, we might need to do some swapsies tonight”

However, at the recoupling Sean decided to stick with Matilda rather than take a chance on a new romance with Diamanté, and she wasn’t pleased.

Asked by host Maya Jama how she felt about Sean choosing his original partner, Diamanté said: “It’s a bit weird how you can tell someone they’re your priority and this is how you treat your priority.”

Matilda quickly fired back: “You’re not sat here, babe.”

Diamanté then bluntly replied: “You can have him, it’s fine, because he’s just going to do the same thing to you.”

Matilda then hit back and said: “Cool, cool, cool. I’m sat here.”

All the while Sean stood looking shell-shocked.
