NETFLIX fans have been left fuming after the streamer has cancelled yet another popular series with no explanation.
Dead Boy Detectives premiered in April but has now been axed by the streamer despite rave reviews from viewers.
Netflix has already angered fans by axing popular shows like Vikings: Valhalla, Lockwood & Co, Fate: The Winx Saga, Julie and the Phantoms and many others.
Dead Boy Detectives is the latest series to be added to this list, having lasted just one season.
The show follows dead friends Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri) and Edwin Paine (George Rexstrew) who decide they’d rather solve supernatural crimes back on Earth than go to the afterlife, all with the help of their psychic medium friend Crystal Palace (Kassius Nelson).
It boasts an impressive supportive cast, too, with Supernatural alum Ruth Connell, Expats’ Yuyu Kitamura, The Summer I Turned Pretty actor David Iacono, You star Lukas Gage, Claws alum Jenn Lyon and The Flight Attendant’s Briana Cuoco all appearing in the series.

Dead Boy Detectives was an instant hit with viewers and the show boasts a 92% critical approval rating on the review aggregator platform Rotten Tomatoes.
Despite this, Netflix decided to cancel the series, leaving viewers fuming as they believed it deserved to continue.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, to discuss Netflix’s decision, one angry viewer said they are “mad at them for cancelling another good series that deserves more seasons.”
“So apparently Dead Boy Detectives have been cancelled. Need to stop watching Netflix series; they just cancel shows anyhow,” fumed another.

A third voiced their frustrations, adding: “I want to get into new tv shows but Netflix y’all are making it hard to do. I watch the first season and get hooked into it, only to find out later that the series is cancelled. I was invested in The Brothers Sun and Dead Boy Detectives.”
While a fourth pointed out that Netflix’s decision to cancel popular shows makes very little sense to viewers. “A shame to see Dead Boy Detectives go the same way as Lockwood. Maybe they didn’t get the tone quite right, but these decisions by Netflix seem increasingly unfathomable,” they wrote.
For many Dead Boy Detectives fans, this cancellation is the final straw as they feel they’ve been repeatedly led down by the streamer axing shows after only one season.
As a result, many are threatening to cancel their subscriptions if Netflix doesn’t renew the show for a second series.
“Netflix, count your f***ing days after cancelling Dead Boy Detectives. The fandom won’t let this pass,” one subscriber threatened.
While another pointed out: “Dead Boy Detectives got cancelled just over a DAY ago and already I think the ratios speak for how rightfully frustrated people are at Netflix for once again proving they cannot be trusted.”

“Renew Dead Boy Detectives you f***ing weenies before we all cancel our memberships,” added a third.
However, it seems unlikely that Netflix will bring back the series based on audience opinions alone, as the streamer doesn’t have a history of renewing shows it axed or listening to fan petitions.
