KIM Kardashian is on a mission to prove she’s more than a one-trick pony.
The reality TV queen, 43, has been taking on an increasing number of projects aside from her family’s The Kardashians show on Hulu in recent times, The U.S. Sun has learned.
It has seen her try her hand at acting in American Horror Story and, most recently, offer her views as a talking head on upcoming docuseries In Vogue: The 90s.
An insider with ties to Hulu explained that it is all part of Kim's ambition to become a star in her own right.
"The bigger strategy at Hulu is all about keeping The Kardashians relatively intact as a reality show while breaking Kim out into her own projects and, really, her own brand of entertainment completely separate from this long-running reality show,” the source said.
“So far, that has worked like gangbusters on the latest season of American Horror Story as well as the multiple scripted projects Kim has been putting together over the last year.

“I'm sure it's been a bit of a dance in terms of letting Kim follow her muse while also keeping the rest of the family members happy as they keep grinding out episodes of The Kardashians, but none of this would be happening if Kim didn't want to spread her wings in the first place."
“She is trying to show the entertainment industry that she's more than just a one-trick pony, and so far, it's working," the source added.
Mom-of-four Kim won plaudits for her performance in Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s American Horror Story: Delicate on FX.
The horror anthology TV series’ twelfth season saw her star alongside the likes of Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, and Cara Delevingne between September last year and April this year.

It was Kim’s first acting role in over a decade following her appearance in Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor in 2013.
That performance earned her a Razzie award for Worst Supporting Actress.
But Kim’s role as publicist Siobhan Corbyn garnered praise, with the character being compared to her momager, Kris Jenner.
In contrast, Kim’s appearance in a new documentary about fashion bible Vogue in the 1990s raised eyebrows.
She stars in the series alongside a host of huge names from the decade like Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, and Kate Moss - despite only being a kid during that period.
However, some fans questioned what insight she would be able to offer after the first trailer was released last month.

The U.S. Sun was told that a key reason Kim had been included was her relationship with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
"The number one reason Kim is in this documentary series is Kim's very solid, hard-won relationship with Vogue boss Anna Wintour,” the source said.
“It took many years to build that level of trust between them but Kim is very loyal to Anna as a result and when Anna invites her to participate in a project, Kim doesn't say no.
“Kim didn't campaign to be involved and didn't pressure anybody to be featured with her talking head interview."
