Trekking through the stunning region of Patagonia, crossing through mountains and deserts on a tight budget, tensions were running high as the ending came near.

With each team choosing to take separate routes via buses, coaches, taxis and even hitch-hiking, Kelly Brook and husband Jeremy Parisi appeared to take an early lead.

However, BBC Radio 2 presenter Scott and Sam, plus Ted Lasso's Kola Bokinni and cousin Mary-Ellen then were quick on their heels - with fans gripped to find out who made it first.

Once in Frutillar, Kola and Mary-Ellen and Scott and Sam were both neck-and-neck, travelling to a designated restaurant before heading to the base camp of a volcano.

With money running-short, Kola and Mary-Ellen had to do the last leg by foot, climbing up a volcano to get to the Chilean flag that marked the end of the race.

Signing their name in the book to signal their end, Sam and Scott were declared the winners - beating Kola and Mary-Ellen by two hours.

"Speechless. When you open that book, and there's no other names in it, there's no other feeling like it," said Scott on the win.

Sam agreed and called it the "best feeling ever".

"It's been exhilarating, it's been tough, it's been so frustrating at times, but it just proves we're a great team - a winning team," added Scott.

The entire 12,500km route took 30 days for the groups to complete.
