Nineties pin-up unrecognisable 32 years after steamy scenes on doomed BBC soap
IT HAS now been over three decades since the short-lived BBC soap Eldorado graced our screens.
While the show was cancelled after just one tumultuous year, it left a mark on British television.
Among its standout stars was Sandra Sandri, who became a household name thanks to her portrayal of Marcus Tandy's girlfriend, Pilar Moreno.
Once known for her steamy scenes and glamorous looks, Sandra was a pin-up for fans of the 90s series.
Her character Pilar was at the heart of the sun soaked drama set in a fictional Spanish town, where British expats navigated the highs and lows of their new lives abroad.
Although the soap was criticised for its hastily developed plotlines and ultimately axed, it is still fondly remembered by its loyal fans.

Now 32 years on from playing Pilar, Sandra is almost unrecognisable from the fresh faced starlet who captivated the attention of BBC audiences.
The baby-faced Spanish actress has matured into a mature woman with a chiselled build.
Now in her late fifties, Sandra has traded in her glamour for a more private life away from the spotlight.
In the years since Eldorado ended, she took a step back from acting to focus on her personal passions.

She married and had a child in 2009, and now works in fashion, designing clothes and prints and selling handbags.
In 2017 she was reportedly living in Lake Como, Italy.
Reflecting on her time on Eldorado in , Sandra spoke fondly of the show, saying: "Eldorado was very nice. I was very very young, I think if it happened to me now I would do some different things, but it was very happy.
"The people from Eldorado took care of us very well."
