The star announced the happy news on Instagram
GOOD Morning Britain star Alex Beresford has announced his wife Imogen McKay is pregnant with their first baby together.
The couple, who married in October 2022, shared the happy news on Instagram today.
Posting a simple photo of his hand protectively over the baby bump, Alex wrote: “The greatest gift. In awe of my beautiful wife growing Baby B. We can’t wait to meet you. x”
It didn’t take long for Alex’s ITV co-stars to share their delight at the happy news and upcoming arrival.
Susanna Reid led the celebrations, writing: “The best news – huge congratulations to you all”
“Ahh massive congratulations!!! ❤️” added Charlotte Hawkins, while Sean Fletcher said: “Congrats Alex!! Wonderful news.”
Loose Women’s Charlene White added: “So excited for you both!!!” and Adil Ray wrote: “Congratulations you two ❤️”
The tot will be Alex’s second child, having had son Cruz, 14, from his previous marriage to Natalia Natkaniec.
The pair split at the end of 2019, with Natalia and Cruz leaving the family home just weeks before the Covid-19 lockdown.
Imogen and Alex started dating in August 2020, with Australian native Imogen having no idea who he was.
She admitted having never seen Alex on television before meeting him, and refrained from looking him up beforehand as she wanted to find out for herself what he was like.
The GMB host later whisked her her off to Majorca for a New Year’s Day proposal in 2022.
Sharing details of his romantic proposal, Alex told : “I took Imogen for a walk along the beach.
“The weather was sunny and warm, and the sea was crystal clear. ‘This is it,’ I thought. Imogen’s not one for taking photos, but as I persuaded her to pose for a picture overlooking the sea, I kneeled down to take the engagement ring I’d hidden inside my rucksack.
“When she turned around, I was on one knee, and asked her the biggest question of my life – and she said yes. It was an amazing moment.”
The couple later said their vows on the Spanish island in front of 100 family and friends that October, saying their vows at sunset on the clifftop Son Marroig estate.
They now live in Bristol together.
