It comes after the programme aired a special show on July 5 following the General Election the day before.

Then in August and September, Channel 4 viewers saw a successful Paralympics show live from Paris each night during the competition.

Now The Last Leg is back on firm footing once again with a new series launching on the network on October 25.

To date, 30 series and over 300 episodes have aired with host Adam Hills and co-stars Alex Brooker and Josh Widdicombe.

Fans now only have a few weeks to wait to see the trio together again.

The new series is even more welcome considering last year, Channel 4 said it was in the process of cost-cutting, and reduced the programme to seven shows rather than nine.

The Last Leg started in 2012 as a spin-off show from Channel 4’s Paralympics coverage.

The trio dissect the week's biggest, most entertaining news stories, using wit, enlightening discussion and unique sketches.

They also invite guests from comedy, entertainment, and politics to help them analyse all the events.

Meanwhile Alex, 40, took part in this year's series of The Masked Singer.

He was eventually revealed as Bigfoot after making it all the way to the final, where he finished runner up to winner Danny Jones as Piranha.

The new series lands on Friday October 25. Audience tickets are available .
