Alex and Holly haven’t seen eye to eye on some matters on the show

The groom has been pelted with allegations after the broadcaster shared his promo reel online, with one user branding him a “dangerous individual”.

And Women’s Aid condemned his involvement in a lengthy statement, saying the decision to feature him is both “disappointing and concerning.”

On the show, Alex and his bride Holly have had a rocky relationship ever since they were paired up by the reality show’s experts.

But Alex insists he’s having a ball, and revealed how he feels about the backlash he’s received in a Q&A with fans.

When one person asked him: “How are you feeling mentally with all the backlash and allegations?”

Alex responded: “If you think the internet affects my real life ur mad.

“Half these people don’t even like themselves that’s why they got so much time to talk about me.

“I’m in real life having a ball. I’m getting mad love out here!! People stop me for pictures everywhere.”

Alex was also asked by a fan: “How are you and Holly doing now the show is over.”

Watch shamed MAFS groom Alex's savage reaction to learning wife Holly is a mum to two kids

He replied: “Ask her,” followed by a laughing face emoji.

In a recent episode, Alex accused his wife of playing up to the cameras when an argument between them left her in tears.

And in previous episodes of MAFS UK, Holly burst into tears after Alex told her in the real world he would have ghosted her.

Another dinner party saw her storming out after she tried to ask him about a comment he made to other grooms at the stag do.

Mafs couples that have stood the test of time

Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.

The pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam’s Doncaster home.

Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.

Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.

Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out – and excited for everything to come.”

Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.

Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.

“While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.

“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’

“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”

Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.

Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna’s vegan lifestyle, the show’s first same sex pairing are still going strong.

They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.

Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: “We’re not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship.”

When she asked why he said he would swap brides if he didn’t like his, Alex refused to respond on camera.

At the most recent dinner party, another row erupted between Holly and Alex when he spoke more to the new bride sitting beside him than to his wife.

Holly left the room in a huff and complained about the situation to one of her friends, but Alex got riled up about it and complained that she was overreacting.

When she tried to pull him aside to a private room for a conversation, he again said he would not discuss their problems on camera, insisting on doing it behind closed doors.
