Daisy May Cooper has revealed she was hoodwinked by a couple of randy swingers when she tried to join a witches’ coven.

The actress and paranormal hoped to fulfil a lifelong ambition of becoming a sorceress during lockdown and even took part in a Zoom interview to push her credentials.

She passed the process with the group’s High Priest and Priestess — aka Brian and Karen.

The pair then asked if she was comfortable being “naked” and having “orgasms” in front of other people at their house.

The penny dropped. Daisy said: “My brain went into reverse trust as realisation dawned. Brian and Karen were swingers or doggers, or maybe both.”

The This Country star realised the only reason she was asked to apply via Zoom was to see if they “fancied” her.

In her new book Hexy Btch*, out yesterday, Daisy added: “If I’d wanted a threesome, I wouldn’t have feigned an elaborate interest in witchcraft — easier to put a call out on Stroud Swingers.”

Daisy’s new book celebrates her love of all things paranormal, and fascination with the afterlife and ghosts. The comedy star is so intrigued by them, she even tried to summon a sex ghost for some action.

However, she says her desired “dreamboat Victorian” that visited her looked like EastEnders hardman Phil Mitchell — ruining the moment.

But Daisy hasn’t given up on getting her end away with a spooky presence.

She said: “I’ll just wait until the ghost of my dreams knocks on my door. Just like everything in the paranormal world, I remain open.”

Somebody’s in for a treat this Halloween — I hope, for Daisy’s sake, it’s not another trick.

As proof that TV talent shows do work, Perrie Edwards is the perfect performer for The Voice’s big finale.

The singer – who found fame as part of Little Mix following their 2011 X Factor triumph – is the special guest on Saturday’s ITV show, which kicks off at 8.10pm.

Perrie, who is now enjoying a storming solo career, hopes to inspire the final four as they battle it out to win £50,000 and a luxury holiday.

Mentor Leann Rimes’ contender is Deb Orah, Will.i.am has his hopes on Storry, Tom Jones is championing Billy & Louie while McFly’s Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones are rooting for their act, Ava.

In fact, Tom and Danny have more reason to celebrate as ITV yesterday announced a special film to celebrate 21 years of the band.

Recorded at London’s O2 during McFly’s birthday concert a fortnight ago, the one-off will air this year featuring behind-the-scenes moments as well as the gig.

Calm TV a blast for dogs

A new channel will distract petrified pooches from the fireworks – by airing 21 banging TV classics.

Bosses at Sky and Now have joined Dogs Trust to create the calming viewing schedule, which includes movies Barbie and Anyone But You, plus comedies such as David Brent: Life on the Road and Step Brothers.

It comes after research showed nearly half of pets are affected by fireworks.

Vet Dr Scott Miller said: “Watch something cheerful on Sky and Now’s Bonfire Night channel to keep a positive vibe. Your pet will take cues from your calm, happy energy, being much more relaxed.”

Just say “bark” into your Sky remote to access shows on Sky channel 310 from 6am on November 1 until 6am on November 6.

Johnny Vegas becomes a zombie in Channel 4’s ghoulish new comedy Generation Z.

But the comic didn’t need to look far for inspiration – because he reckons his home in Richmond, south-west London, is haunted.

He revealed: “I have a ghost in my house. When I moved in it was the first time I had a bigger house because I grew up in a terraced street.

“But then I discovered I have a presence in my house. Other people have felt something in there too. I found out that the family before had had an exorcism.

“I think she [the ghost] is a nice woman. I just don’t think she likes company.”

The Channel 4 show, which starts on Sunday at 9pm, also sees Anita Dobson as an OAP who becomes zombified.

She said: “I’d never done anything like this before. Sometimes when it’s really gory you have to turn away, but doing it is a different ball park – it’s really fun!”

Martin Compston is returning in a new series of The Rig

Here’s a first look at Martin Compston returning as oil worker Fulmer in the second series of fantasy thriller, The Rig.

The show was a big hit internationally following its release in January last year, so Prime Video immediately ordered a six-part sequel, which drops in January 2025.

The follow-up sees Iain Glen, Emily Hampshire, Rochenda Sandall, and Mark Addy all return.

They will be joined in The Rig 2 by Alice Krige, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Ross Anderson, and Phil McKee.

Michael McIntyre will celebrate 25 years in stand-up with a filming of his Magnificent show at London Palladium.

The one-off will air on BBC One this year and fans can apply to be in the audience on applausestore.com.

He said: “It’s an honour to be celebrating this milestone with this stand-up special.”

Hunt for a Brit of alright

Rylan Clark’s Dating Naked invited people to strip off in their hunt for love, whilst Anna Richardson has had great success on Naked Attraction encouraging singles to choose a new partner having taken a look at their naughty bits.

But a new reality show is in the works that invites its participants to lay something else bare entirely - their patriotism.

Execs are casting now for True Brit Dating, asking hopefuls: “Are you single and looking for love? Proud to be British? Value tradition?”
