Her comments echo the aspirations she expressed in a 2020 interview

ALESHA Dixon has revealed her career plans away from Britain's Got Talent after 12 years on the panel.

Singer Alesha, 46, opened up about her career ambitions and future plans in television, with over a decade on the ITV show under belt, as well as three years as a Strictly judge.

in a new interview, “I actually think I’ve done them all.

"When I was young, I used to watch Strictly Come Dancing and say, ‘That’s the only one I want to do,’ and I did.”

However, Alesha hinted that she is not entirely done with exploring new opportunities, confessing: "But I’d like to do more shows in the US."

She previously appeared as a judge on America’s Got Talent: The Champions after being drafted in by Simon Cowell.

The Breathe Slow songstress was joined by her old boss, alongside Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel for the spin-off's second season.

But the format was axed shortly afterwards and she never made it to the main series, where Heidi sits alongside Modern Family's Sofia Vergara.

Speaking to months later, in June 2020, Alesha revealed her hopes to take on the American market once again.

She said: “It was a dream of mine to work on American television. Everybody gets to a point where they get itchy feet, they want to try something new and be challenged.

“I like to step into an arena that makes me feel afraid – it’s good for me. By stepping out of my comfort zone, great things come.

"I was really scared in the most amazing way. I can’t wait for lockdown to be over so I can go back.”

Over in the UK, Alesha co-stars with Simon, Amanda Holden and KSI, who is standing in for Bruno Tonioli as he films Dancing With The Stars, the American version of Strictly.

Simon has since stepped down from his role to grieve the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne.

Filming for the upcoming series was halted in the wake of Liam's tragic passing - but later resumed without the music mogul.

Alesha shot to fame in 2001 as a member of Mis-Teeq, with the Hertfordshire-native pursuing a career on her own after the band split in 2005.

She released two singles, but they didn’t match the band's success and she was swiftly dropped by her record label.

However, her Strictly win in 2007 served to revitalise her career - with the star being snapped up as a judge and by a rival label.

Under Asylum Records, The Boy Does Nothing sold one million copies worldwide while her 2008 album The Alesha Show went platinum, and she toured the UK as a solo act.

There have long been talk of a Mis-Teeq reunion and Alesha, herself, has even said it would be a “disaster” if the band never came back together.
