‘I’m near the end’ says Bake Off’s Prue Leith, 84, as she makes shock life admission in fresh update on show future
PRUE Leith has issued a fresh update on her future on Bake Off as she admitted 'I'm near the end'.
The Channel 4 star, 84, has been the face of the long-running baking series alongside Paul Hollywood since it left the BBC in 2017.
However, earlier this year she announced she would be standing down from the celebrity specials of Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer.
And now Prue has shared an update on her future, admitting she has already thought about the tent.
She said: "So I won't leave in a hurry, but I will leave some time because I'm getting ancient."
Prue also shared how she is more 'reckless' as she continues to age, grabbing life by the horns.

The mum-of-three said: "Because I’m so near the end, I’m a bit more reckless now. What’s the worst that can happen?
"If I was about to try to get a job on Bake Off I probably wouldn't walk down a catwalk in Latex with goth make-up on, but now it's too late.
"If I want to do it and it sounds like good fun I just think, 'why not?'"
Meanwhile, last week Prue caused outrage with viewers as she updated a classic recipe.

During a technical challenge she cooked up a Parkin dish, but with her own twist.
Her addition of icing to the viewer-favourite left fans reeling, with one saying: "I'm very f** sorry… Icing on parkin!? Get f** with that Waitrose nonsense Prue."
While a second fumed: ""I am not from Yorkshire but I have heard of and eaten Parkin. It's an abomination to even consider putting icing on it or cinnamon in it. Sticky black treacle yes and ginger."
