SYLVAIN LONGCHAMBON found fame as a professional dancer on Dancing on Ice and been a key player on the show ever since.
As well as bringing him into the public eye, the ITV skating competition changed Sylvain’s life dramatically as it introduced him to his now-wife Samia Longchambon.
Who is Sylvain Longchambon?
Sylvain Longchambon is a professional ice dancer.
He was born on July 30, 1980, in Saint-Priest, France.
Longchambon has many sporting achievements to his name, including two silver medals that he and skating partner Caroline Truong won at the 1999/2000 International Skating Union Grand Prix.
The duo went on to win bronze at the Ondrej Nepela Memorial in 2001 – a senior level figure skating competition – and the French Championships in 2002.
When did he join Dancing On Ice?
Longchambon first joined Dancing On Ice in 2011 when he was partnered with Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe.
He was then forced to leave the following year after he tore a tendon in his right bicep while training with his partner from that series, former Sugababes star .
The professional skater returned to the show in 2013 and stayed on as one of the dancers until the show ended in 2014.
He then returned once again when the series was rebooted in 2018.
He has been paired up with many soap stars, including Jorgie Porter, in 2014, Stephanie Waring, in 2018, and Jane Danson in 2019.
Sylvain has embarked on several romances with his Dancing On Ice partners.
He dated Jennifer Metcalfe for two years after they were paired on his first series.
They then split after Sylvain confessed he had feelings for Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie, his now-wife who he had been partnered up with for the 2013 series.
For Dancing On Ice 2024, Sylvain has been paired with Emmerdale star Roxy Shahidi.
When did he marry Samia Ghadie?
Samia and Sylvain tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in August 2016.
The couple had confirmed their engagement in May 2015.
A source told The Sun at the time that the “romantic ceremony” was held at Take That star Gary Barlow‘s old home, Delamere Manor, in Cheshire.
Guests included Sami’s co-stars Tina O’Brien, Alan Halsall and Lucy-Jo Hudson.

The publication reports that the couple wrote their own vows, with Samia telling Sylvain: “From the moment our paths crossed, you surprised me, distracted me and infatuated me in a way no other human being has ever done.
“I have fallen in love with you again and again endless times without reservation. I still can’t believe that today I get to marry you.”
She then added: “I will love you always. With every beat of my heart. From this day forward you do not walk alone.
“For my heart will be your shelter and my arms will be your home.”
On the wedding day, Samia’s daughter Freya melted hearts as she walked her mum down the aisle to give her away.
Samia shares Freya with her first husband, property developer Matt Smith.
Sylvain and Samia gave Freya a little brother in 2015.
Their son, Yves Joseph Longchambon, was born on September 24 that year.
