BBC Breakfast star left flustered after VERY awkward on-air exchange that led producer to step in
It follows Naga Munchetty's wardrobe mishap as her dress burst open
A BBC Breakfast star was left flustered after a very awkward on-air exchange took place on Saturday morning’s show, leading a producer to step in.
BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt was taken by surprise as his co-host Nina Warhurst asked if he was “looking for a new job.”
As they delivered the day’s top stories, Nina said: “It’s 12 minutes past 8, now if you are looking for a new job.”
She then turned to Charlie and questioned: “Are you looking for a new job?”
Charlie appeared visibly perplexed by the probe, as he replied: “I wasn’t expecting that.”
Nina could be seen laughing at Charlie’s confusion, as the weatherman Simon got involved.
Charlie said to him: “Umm I don’t know, Simon help me, am I looking for a new job?”
Simon, who also looked slightly baffled by the conversation, jumped in reassuringly with: “I’ve not heard Charlie so just stay right there.”
Despite the atmosphere, Nina went on: “I’m just putting it out there, just in case you were.”
Charlie playfully reached for his phone and said: “Um should I call someone?”
To which a member of production jumped in as their voice was heard off-camera saying: “Get your agent on the phone.”
The awkward exchange follows BBC Breakfast sar Naga Munchetty’s dress bursting open live on BBC Breakfast last week.
Viewers of the flagship Beeb programme tuned in for the latest news from the UK and across the world.
Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty were on hosting duties from the iconic red sofa at their studios in Salford, Manchester
Meanwhile, their colleague and co-star Jon Kay was live from Washington DC as he gave viewers the latest updates following Donald Trump’s win in the US elections.
However, during the show eagle-eyed fans noticed how Naga’s dress had burst open during the show.
The polarising news anchor wore a stunning chic navy and black buttoned outfit.
Naga, 49, appeared to be oblivious to the wardrobe malfunction, before she leaned forward, appearing to hide it from the cameras.
However, fans at home flooded social media with comments as they begged her to ‘sort it out’.
One said: “Naga, sort your wardrobe malfunction out. It’s distracting.”
A second wrote: “Could someone please sort out Naga’s top.”
“Hopefully the voice in her ear will tell her to sort it soon,” said a third BBC Breakfast viewer.
