Alan Halsall’s future on Coronation Street revealed as he stars in I’m A Celebrity
ALAN Halsall's future on Coronation Street has been revealed as the actor takes part in this year's I'm A Celebrity.
Alan, who plays mechanic Tyrone Dobbs on the Weatherfield cobbles, was given time off by ITV bosses for his jungle stint.
But fans of the character will barely notice his absence from screens as his disappearance will be blended into the background of other Corrie storylines.
The Sun can reveal the character is not being given an exit storyline by producers and is expected back at work soon after returning from Australia.
A source said: "Because Alan's time off from filming is so short bosses won't be addressing his break on screen.
"Filming for Coronation Street is 10 weeks in advance so any potential scenes involving Tyrone wouldn't be aired until February next year.

"Alan is extremely popular on set and the whole crew are rooting for him in the jungle and can't wait to have him back and hear about the experience."
Alan, 42, joined the ITV soap back in 1998 and has been a permanent fixture on the cobbles ever since, with his character Tyrone married to Fizz, played by Jennie McAlpine.
I'm A Celebrity fans have watched Alan open up on his dating life to his fellow campmates, addressing his split from former Corrie sta ex Lucy-Jo Hudson.
He said: "Lucy left Corrie in about 2005, then we got married in 2009. We then split up after Sienna was born."Alan continued:

"I love what I've got, even now I'm on my own I love just being dad. I've never done dating apps."
Alan eventually moved on with Tisha Merry, who played Steph Britton in Coronation Street, but the pair split earlier this year after several years together.
But on the show, despite being camp leader, Alan hasn't had much airtime so far.
Alan previously told how he was gutted to have to pull out of last year’s I’m A Celeb due to a knee injury.
But some viewers have started to poke fun about his lack of time on-screen, with one saying: "The leaves have gotten more airtime than Tyrone from Corrie at this point."
So far, Radio 1 presenter Dean Mccullough and Loose Women star GK Barry continue to be put up for the Bushtucker Trials.
