BABY LOVE

MAFS UK couple share sweet baby news three years after meeting on the show

After last year's drama the pair have revealed that they want a quiet Christmas

ADAM and Tayah Aveling met as strangers at the altar when they took part in E4' Marriage at First Sight experiment in 2021.

But while many of the show's unions have fizzled out over time, there's has strengthened, as they’ve become the most celebrated couples in the history of the experiment.

Having welcomed their daughter Beau in October 2022, they’ve now revealed that they’re expecting their second child.

But Tayah has revealed that she felt very sick in the early stages, which was different to her first pregnancy.

In an interview with she said:

"I was so tired and felt really sick. I was never physically sick when I was having Beau, but it’s a constant feeling this time around," she reveals, with her due date set for April 2025. "I’m starting to feel better now, though."

Last Christmas the couple had a proper wedding away from the TV cameras, renewing their vows with their family and friends present

Adam said it just felt like a more intimate affair for close friends and family. He said: “We’ve always been close, but our second wedding was more like a big family celebration. Tay and I already felt like we were married anyway, even if our scenario was a bit strange.

And Tanya added: “Yeah, the second wedding didn’t change too much. We felt like husband and wife when we left MAFS – but I wouldn’t say no to a third wedding [laughs]. I actually struggled a bit with our wedding last year, I still wasn’t mentally in the best place [after having Beau], I wish I could have just soaked up the moment.”

The couple who both entered the experiment back in 2021 with positive outlook, confess that they’re still astounded to have gained a soulmate from reality television.

“We were talking about it the other day, actually. How we both had a gut feeling that it would be a positive experience for us. But if someone told me when I was applying that I’d meet my legal husband and the father of my children, I wouldn’t have believed them.”

But while they haven't followed much of the current series, Tanya admits to relief that they starred on the show before social media became such an integral part of the process.

"Adam and I were saying that we’re glad we did it before sharing everything on social media was necessarily a thing. Everything I see on TikTok is just people speaking negatively about the cast. I do feel for them, I think that must be tough. We do open ourselves up to criticism, but I think there’s a fine line."

This Christmas, the Doncaster-based couple will celebrate the one year anniversary of their proper wedding at home with friends and family.

Having tied the knot a few days after Christmas last year, Tanya admits that she’s looking forward to a less hectic festive period.

She says: “It was full focus on the wedding and, although we’ll be celebrating our first anniversary, this one we’ll be spending time with family.
