It comes as fans of the series feared host Stephen Mulhern would be absent from the show after collapsing at Pizza Express.

Olympic gold medallists Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are set to return as head judges sitting alongside Diversity's Ashley Banjo.

Oti Mabuse will return as the fourth panellist after her successful stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle.

She will swap the cold and damp conditions for a place behind the desk by the infamous rink.

Twelve celebrities will take to the ice next year as they attempt to master the art of ice-dancing.

Every week they will attempt to impress the judges and public with dazzling routines with their professional partners.

The line-up includes TV presenter Michaela Strachan, Traitors star Mollie Pearce and Dan Edgar from The Only Way Is Essex.

Footballer Anton Ferdinand, Corrie's Sam Aston and Love Island personality Chris Taylor will also get their skates on.

Despite numerous setbacks, telly favourite Stephen will return to screens too in January to front the series alongside his longtime colleague and pal Holly Willoughby, 43.

The 47-year-old was replaced by Sally Lindsay on The Big Soap Quiz following the death of his father Christopher.

And last week, paramedics were called to Pizza Express in Sunningdale, Berks, after he suddenly fell ill.

The ITV host was taken to nearby Frimley Park hospital in Camberley, Surrey, as a precaution.

His health scare was blamed on a reaction to an anaesthetic he'd had for an operation he underwent earlier in the day.

A source said: "He’s also been battling several well-documented health problems, and on Wednesday morning had a procedure requiring a local anaesthetic.

“He took himself off for a quiet, solo dinner that evening, had a few drinks and just reacted incredibly badly."

It’s thought the star was ‘mortified’ by the incident and he later called his mother Maureen to assure her he was OK.
