THE BBC are still refusing to confirm if they’ll cancel the upcoming series of MasterChef, even though it is presented by Gregg Wallace.
Filming on the 21st season has concluded this week in Athens, Greece, and it was earmarked to air in spring 2025.
Almost all the episodes - bar the final - feature the presenter.
Only the closing episodes of the programme, which features non-celebrity cooks, are hosted by Gregg’s Aussie co-star, John Torode.
A TV insider said: “The Beeb won’t even say if they’ll attempt to edit him out of the programme, though that would be virtually impossible to do anyway.
“This is a nightmare for execs because it’s one of the most expensive Masterchef series that’s been made as this one was filmed abroad.

“It’s desperately unfair on all the chefs involved in the contest not to mention all the crew and creatives involved in making the programme.”
The BBC initially said that the two festive Masterchef specials would still air over December, without being edited.
But as increasing amounts of claims against Wallace emerged they performed a u-turn and pulled them both from the Christmas schedules.
A spokeswoman for the BBC declined to comment.
