Alan Halsall’s Coronation Street co-star reveals he’s already agreed to do the next series of I’m a Celeb
The Corrie star insisted he's 'been asked' by I'm a Celeb bosses to take part next year
ALAN Halsall’s Coronation Street co-star has revealed that he’s agreed to do the next series of I’m a Celebrity.
As Corrie’s Alan hangs on in the jungle, his co-star Ben Price – who plays Nick Tilsley – has admitted he’s keen to follow in his footsteps.
The 53-year-old Corrie star revealed on his On The Sofa podcast, which he presents with Jack P Shepherd and Colson Smith: “I’d have a go.”
“You know what? People would get naffed off with me cos I would go, yeah, go on, have a go. “
Then he teased: “I’m going in next year – they’ve asked me!”
“I’m stating it now so that the producers know in a heartbeat I will go on the jungle -, literally, if you pick up the phone, I will do it for free.”
He went on to say he would cover his naked body in mud, and the trials don’t faze him.
“Fish guts, fine! – I’m not a***sed,” he said.
“Not even on a trial – I’d just eat fish heads.”
Jack P Shephard said: “I’d say I’m a celeb every time, instantly. I wouldn’t even try it.
Ben came back with: “I’d go all guns blazing.”
Nick Tilsley has been a character in the soap since 1980, played by different characters, including Adam Rickett, but Ben took over the role in 2009.
Some of his storylines have seen him marry, divorce and remarry Leanne Battersby, and have a one-night stand with Jack’s character David’s wife, Kylie Platt.
He was also the orchestrator of a lorry crash, which left Kylie’s brain damaged.
Ben’s acting career outside of Corrie includes Footballers Wives, Casualty, Soldier Soldier, Heartbeat, and Peak Practice.
