The hugely-popular initiative - which has been backed by many a famous face - aims to combat loneliness and this year has teamed up with organisations including including Alzheimer’s Research UK, Winston's Wish, Re-engage, Royal Voluntary Service, Home-Start UK and The Chatty Cafe Scheme.

Later on in Wednesday's episode, she wished viewers a "happy Christmas" and said: "See you on Christmas Day."

Her co host Richard Madeley, 68, then added: “I will see you tomorrow.”

An ITV spokesperson was first to tell The Sun of the re-jigged line-up and said: "It will be a mixture of Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins presenting over the Christmas period.

"Susanna Reid and Ed Balls will present on Christmas Day."

Yet she is no stranger to putting in a shift after Santa's visit, with GMB, featuring in the show's festive episode back in 2022.

It came after the weekday series was scrapped between Christmas and New Year in 2021 during the Coronavirus pandemic.
