Angela Rippon was involved with the show since its inception in 2009, but has now stepped back to focus on other projects.

A show insider previously confirmed to the Sun that Angela is expected to return in a future series.

But for now her role has been passed to Louise, who is bringing a wealth of journalistic experience to the job.

Louise expressed her excitement about joining the team on Rip Off Britain, saying: "I’ve always admired the show for really making a difference, for shining a spotlight on the issues that matter most to people and empowering viewers with the knowledge to tackle everyday challenges and stand up for their rights.

"From uncovering scams to giving audiences the advice they need to safeguard their money, we’ll do our best to promote the stories that expose the latest consumer issues and help to make a real difference. It’s going to be an exciting series."

The new series, which is set to premiere on January 6, is expected to address a wide range of consumer issues.

The hosts will tackle the process for British holiday-makers trying to get compensation after floods in Dubai.

They will also address issues closer to home, such as rocketing energy prices and parcels being destroyed in the post.

Rachel Platt, BBC Daytime’s Commissioning Editor, has spoken about the positive qualities Louise is bringing to the show.

She shared: "She brings both the journalistic rigour needed to hold organisations to account and the warmth and empathy to get to the heart of real stories."

Angela's decision to step back from the show came after her impressive run on Strictly Come Dancing and her involvement in the 2024 live tour.

Gloria and Julia worked on a special scam themed series of the show that aired in November without her.
