VIEWERS of The Big Fat Quiz of the Year have hit out at the show and criticised its failure to be inclusive after not adapting certain rounds for blind contestant Chris McCausland.
The comedian, who recently won Strictly Come Dancing, was one of the comedy stars who was booked to take part in the annual Channel 4 programme, fronted by Jimmy Carr.
It did not take long until fans of the programme were left pointing out how certain rounds were a struggle for visually impaired Chris and how programme makers had failed to adapt picture-based rounds for the star.
Chris was paired with fellow comic Maisie Adam for the yearly panel programme with Rob Beckett and Loose Women star Judi Love making up another team as well as comedians Richard Ayoade and Katherine Ryan.
But with many rounds focusing on the teams describing what they could see in a variety of pictures, many criticised the programme for failing to cater to Chris' needs.
As a result, Maisie was forced to verbally describe each image to Chris in order for him to be able to attempt to participate in the round.
More on Chris McCausland
Taking aim at the broadcast, one viewer wrote: "Chris McCausland is hardly the best booking for the #bigfatquizoftheyear when almost every round involves something visual."
Another added: "#BigFatQuizOfTheYear the questions are tough for Chris, but basically this show isn't much about questions."
As a third penned: "I love #bigfatquizoftheyear but was thinking about how they would have adapted it to make sure Chris could be involved with the picture rounds etc... the answer seems to be not at all?!?!"
Ahead of the show's airing, and its barrage of complaints, Chris tweeted to reveal that the programme was filmed during a hectic period for him.

He revealed the recording took place during the rehearsal week for the semi-finals of Strictly earlier this month following a gruelling eight-hour session between him and dance partner Dianne Buswell.
Chris said: "Tonight you can catch me on #BigFatQuizOfTheYear on @Channel4.
"We filmed this during the semi-final week of Strictly so I had already done eight hours of dancing before I got to enjoy this sit down, so tune in to see me looking tired but grateful for the rest."
Chris and Dianne picked up the Glitterball trophy earlier this year after beating fellow finalists JLS singer JB Gill, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and Miranda actress Sarah Hadland.
In a blow to Strictly fans, the comedy star will be unable to participate in the annual arena tour despite being crowned the champion.
This is because his own tour dates clash with those in place for the Strictly live tour.
