While interviewing Diplo for the telethon, Andy Cohen - joined by Anderson Cooper in New York City - asked, “What’s the most conventional place that you’ve done LSD?”

Diplo, laughing, replied via video link in Los Angeles, “Right now. I did some on the helicopter, on the way here.”

The DJ, formerly a member of the group LSD with Sia and Labrinth, then clarified, still laughing, “I’m not even lying.”

Anderson burst into laughter while a shocked Andy asked, “You’re tripping right now?”

Diplo calmly answered, “Yeah, but it’s like a light trip.”

He explained that he was “microdosing” but added that he may have “macrodosed” earlier in the day.

After the interview, Anderson quipped of his admiration for Diplo, saying, “I wish I was Diplo. I got to say. I just think he has a fun, cool lifestyle. Can you imagine his lifestyle? ‘I’m Diplo. I do things.’”

Andy then asked Anderson if he followed Diplo on Instagram.

When the news anchor admitted he didn’t, he said, “I’m absolutely going to start. I mean… I feel bad about my own boring life compared to Diplo’s.

"He’s got helicopters, and he’s like doing things. He did like four shots while we were talking.

LSD is illegal in the U.S. under federal law.

It is classified as a Schedule I controlled substance, meaning it is considered to have a high potential for abuse and no accepted medical use, although recent research has sparked renewed interest in its therapeutic potential.

Diplo’s eventful New Year’s Eve concluded with a performance at Avalon Hollywood.

The Grammy winner might be pleased to see 2024 behind him after being hit with his second revenge porn lawsuit.

In June, a woman identified as Jane Doe claimed she began chatting with Pentz on Snapchat in April 2016 when she was 21 years old.

She said the two shared pornographic images for several months and later had a sexual relationship until October 2023.

The relationship allegedly ended when Doe learned that Pentz had been sharing images and videos of their sexual encounters without her knowledge or permission.

It marked the second set of revenge porn allegations filed against Pentz in recent years.

OTHER CLAIMS

Pentz achieved musical acclaim during the 2000s.

But he developed a reputation in recent years for appearing at nearly every A-list event or red carpet.

But beginning in late 2020, he was slapped with a sexual misconduct case that made headlines for some time.

In October 2020, Shelly Auguste claimed that Pentz sexually assaulted her, recorded their sexual activity without permission, and shared revenge porn.

The next year, after Pentz and Auguste sued each other, he in an Instagram post, calling her a "stalker" who had scammed her way into his life.

Pentz was awarded $1.2 million after it was found that Auguste's social media posts violated a mutual restraining order that she had signed with Pentz.

Auguste is now suing Pentz for claims such as sexual battery and defamation - a civil trial is scheduled for January 2025.

"For more than three years, Shelly Auguste has been orchestrating an ongoing smear campaign against Wes—and this is just more of the same," Pentz's attorney, Bryan Freedman, told in December 2023.

What is LSD?

LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide), commonly known as acid, is a powerful hallucinogenic drug that alters perception, mood, and thought.

It was first synthesized in 1938 by Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann and gained popularity in the 1960s as part of counterculture movements.

Effects of LSD:

  • Visual Hallucinations: Users often experience intense visual distortions, such as vibrant colors, geometric patterns, and objects that appear to move.
  • Altered Perception of Time and Space: Time may feel distorted, and ordinary objects can appear surreal or transformed.
  • Heightened Emotions: LSD can amplify feelings, causing profound emotional experiences, both positive and negative.
  • Mind-Altering Thoughts: The drug often induces deep thoughts and a sense of unity with the universe, but it can also lead to confusion and paranoia.

Risks and Dangers:

While LSD is not physically addictive, it can cause psychological distress, including anxiety and paranoia. It’s unpredictable – with effects varying widely depending on the user’s environment, mood, and mindset. It can also lead to lasting changes in perception, sometimes referred to as "flashbacks."

Legality:

LSD is illegal in the U.S. under federal law. It is classified as a Schedule I controlled substance, meaning it is considered to have a high potential for abuse and no accepted medical use, although recent research has sparked renewed interest in its therapeutic potential.
