The Masked Singer UK 2025 LIVE: Macy Gray branded a ‘sore loser’ by fans as she’s unmasked as Toad In The Hole
THE Masked Singer has left viewers gobsmacked after Toad In The Hole stormed off stage in very dramatic scenes.
The singer was one of five characters who performed in the latest episode and she found herself in the bottom two with Bear.
Pufferfish, Wolf and Bush were all saved by the audience during Saturday night's show, meaning Toad and Bear had to go head-to-head in a sing-off.
But when the judges voted to save Bear, Toad threw a diva strop and walked off the stage.
She returned moments later and revealed her identity, which confirmed Maya Jama and guest judge Suranne Jones' guesses that she was US superstar Macy Gray.
Host Joel Dommett then struggled to get more than one-word answers out of the RnB and soul singer as he tried to interview her.
Macy then performed an unusually short song with her mask off before the show came to an end.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans were quick to brand the star a "sore loser".
One wrote: "Macy Gray was an epic sore loser. Could she put any less effort into that last song. You embarrassed yourself, its a gameshow."
Another added: "So #MacyGray obviously expected to win. What a bad loser. Glad she got voted off, ha."
The Masked Singer is available on ITVX and STV Player, while the new instalment of the singing competition airs on ITV next Saturday.

Who do The Masked Singer fans think Bush is?
Those watching at home have joined the judges and shared several of their fan theories so far.
However, before Bush even took to the stage, viewers were already convinced they knew who was behind the mask.
They were convinced that Bush was McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher after a clue was dropped by The Masked Singer 2024 winner Danny Jones.
However, after appearing on Sunday, January 5, 2025, it was revealed that Bush was in fact female.
Now fan theories are pointing to a huge soap star.
They are pointing the finger at EastEnders legend Natalie Cassidy.
One posted online: "DO THESE PEOPLE NOT KNOW SONIA FOWLER #TheMaskedSinger."
Another added: "Natalie Cassidy as the Bush.... possibly."
However the same poster also cheekily said: "After the clues, who pee'd in a bush.
What are the clues?
In true The Masked Singer style, Bush dropped several clues in their first appearance on the show.
The character's main hints so far include:
- Determined to show they aren’t a "coward"
- They like the outdoors and gardening
- Bush also likes to "stage manage" where the plants go
- A "Best Bush in Show" trophy
- A judge's gavel and wig
- Time to get "tree-actrical"
Bush also shared the riddle: ''I’ve been training for years, and there’s no turning back.
''Have you peeped through my leaves? Are you on the right track?''
Who do the Masked Singer judges think Bush could be?
With the new singing series in full swing, the panel have already made several guesses.
Davina McCall chose Catherine O'Hara and guest judge Vicky McClure threw BBC's Ground Force host Charlie Dimmock into the mix.
Other names put forward by the judges were Billie Piper and Stacey Solomon.
New judge Maya Jama said the clues led her to believe it was Idris Elba, but the voice didn't match.
What are the clues?
A number of clues about Wolf's identity have been given, including:
- A T-shirt with "Wolf Pack" written on it
- References to "two sides to every story" and "take me as I am"
- Mentions of "good foundations" and keeping a roof over your head
- Bishop seen behind the camera"
- Imagery of multi-coloured bowling pins and a ball
- Clues about a ship and being perceived as "big" or "bad"
- "You wanna know more about little old me, if the three little pigs had listened to my advice no huffing or puffing would've blown those houses down"
Wolf's riddle was: "As a wolf, I've held dominion over everything I see, wild woods, creek or cave, that's my territory."
Who do The Masked Singer fans think Wolf is?
The majority of armchair detectives seem to have come to the same conclusion regarding Wolf's identity.
They have been speculating online that former Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow had swapped the studio for The Masked Singer stage.
One posted: "Wolf is 100,000 per cent Marti Pellow, so many of his vocal notes in that performance.”
Another guessed: “That’s Marti Pellow as Wolf. I’m telling you, I know his voice anywhere.”
A third added: “I’ve been a fan of Marti since I was 13 and would recognise that voice anywhere.”
However, not everyone on social media was in agreement as the name Martin Fry was put forward by a number of people.
Who do the judges think Wolf could be?
In the second episode of the 2025 series, when Wolf first appeared, judges Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross were joined by Line of Duty actress Vicky McClure.
Maya picked up on the clues about property and guessed Wolf's identity as Location, Location, Location host Phil Spencer.
Jonathan gave it three shots - guessing David Tennant, Jason Donovan, and Paul Weller, while Davina chose Simon Le Bon.
Vicky guessed Mike Skinner, while Mo opted for U2 frontman Bono.
Who has been unmasked so far?
Spag Bol lost the vote in the opening episode and was the first to be unmasked.
It was none other than Kate Garraway behind the popular pasta dish but judges were left surprised as they all made the wrong guess.
The second celebrity to be revealed at the ITV show was Prue Leith under the mask of the Pegasus.
The Great British Bake Off judge was unmasked after being placed in the bottom two with Bush.
Jonathan Ross was left cheering as he had guessed Prue Leith after her performance, the same as many viewers at home.
Macy was 'totally blindsided' by elimination
A source told the Sun that because Macy reached the final of the US version as Sea Queen in 2023, she was “totally blindsided” to be one of the first to leave this series.
“Macy was almost shellshocked to start with and was basically gutted to be out so early because she really enjoyed being on the American version - when obviously she did brilliantly - so was totally blindsided.
“It was the shock of it for her as well as the upset and in that moment she had a very raw, human reaction and wanted out.
“It took everyone backstage ages to talk her round and poor Joel was on stage essentially doing a stand-up routine to try and keep things under control.”
Show left in chaos
During yesterday's dramatic episode Macy Gray stormed off the stage after realising they were going home.
The Sun has revealed how the show was left in chaos by the move and were left scrambling for nearly an hour to coax Macy back on stage - none of which was seen on screen.
When Toad did eventually return to the stage and take off their mask, Macy turned and looked absolutely furious and upset.
As Joel and the panel tried to speak to the star, Macy gave very short answers before performing just a couple of lines of her song.
Fans brand Macy Gray a 'diva'
Masked Singer fans have branded Macy Gray a 'diva' after storming off when the panel failed to save her as Toad in the Hole.
After such a dramatic end to the show, Masked Singer viewers took to X - formerly Twitter - to discuss what happened, and how unimpressed they were with Macy's response to being voted off.
One simply wrote: "Well, that was f***ing awkward."
Another added: "Macy gray having a tantrum dressed as a toad on stage will go down in pop culture history."
A third tweeted: "Imagine being that p***ed off whilst dressed as a toad. Why even go on it in the first place? It's a bit of fun!"
A fellow viewer commented: "Embarrassing that you’re fuming over a family entertainment show… what a diva."
Joel's take
Masked Singer UK host Joel Dommett gave his take on Macy Gray's dramatic reveal hours before the show aired.
Without giving away what was about to unfold (Macy storming off after being voted out as Toad In The Hole), Joel told fans on Instagram: "Fantastic episode of The Masked Singer tonight.
"It's worth it just for the end. Um... one of the most surprising ends that we've had all six series. Worth watching."
It was indeed, Joel!
Wild guess
The guesses were fully flowing last night but there was one particularly wild one.
Bear opened the show by rapping and singing to Will Smith's 1997 smash hit Miami and his performance left the judges stumped.
Jonathan Ross thinks Bear might be EastEnders and Hollyoaks star Richard Blackwood and fans at home were on board with this suggestion.
A few, however, have made the wild assumption that Bear is Maya Jama's ex Stormzy.
Well, this wouldn't be completely unacceptable.
Love Island host Maya is partial to the surprise of a Bombshell or two, isn't she?!
Legs out
Well, Masked Singer UK host Joel Dommett certainly got pulses racing last night.... kind of!
In celebration of the Summer Holiday special episode, he wore a rather fetching striped jacket and bared his legs in matching shorts.
To really make his outfit elite, Joel also donned a pair of blue socks and...errm.. some sexy sock braces.
Snazzy.
Pellow talk
Plenty of celebrity names were thrown around during last night's episode of The Masked Singer UK.
But one that kept cropping up on social media was Marti Pellow.
Fans are convinced the Wet Wet Wet star is Wolf.
Writing on Reddit, one viewer confidently said: "Wolf is Marti Pellow From Wet Wet Wet, you can hear it in certain phrasings."
Another fan posted on X, saying: "Seriously I’m 100% convinced Wolf is Marti Pellow."
Do you agree?
What a Bae
How does she do it?
No matter what she wears, Davina McCall always looked incredible - and last night was no different.
In honour of the show's Summer Holiday special, judge Davina glammed up in a red swimsuit and shorts to mimic a star from Baywatch.
She added streaks of 'Pamela Anderson blonde' into her dark hair and carried the iconic red float used by the lifeguards in the 90s show.
Fans praised the star’s looks online, with one person writing: “Those legs!!! 😍 You look amazing! Loving the hair too!”
What a Bae.
New judge
Suranne Jones was the latest guest judge to join the panel of The Masked Singer.
Looking gorgeous in a white suit, she sandwiched herself between Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross on Saturday night for the Summer Holiday special.
Fans were thrilled to have the Dr Foster star onboard and flocked to X to share their thoughts.
One posted: "You can't not love Suranne Jones."
Another added: "I love Suranne Jones so much."
And a third chimed in: "Suranne Jones is incredible, like a fine wine. I’m not sure she need those reading glasses, who cares?"
All puffed out
Masked Singer UK fans are completely puzzled by the identity of Pufferfish.
She performed for a second time on Saturday night but the list of suggested names by viewers is endless.
At first they thought Pufferfish was US popstar Katy Perry. After hearing her sing again, they are confused.
Just some of the names being thrown around online include West End star Samantha Barks, actress Angela Griffin, No Doubt's Gwen Stefani, RuPaul's Michelle Visage, actress Hayden Panettiere, Glee's Lea Michele...
See, ENDLESS!
Bug Bear
Bear completely threw both the judges and viewers at home this week.
For his first performance, Bear sung You’ve Got To Pick A Pocket Or Two from the musical Oliver!.
The judges were left wondering if it was Gordon Ramsay, Christopher Biggins, comedian Tom Davis or actor Patrick Stewart.
Fast-foward a week, however, and a song switch up has left everyone confused.
Bear performed Will Smith's 1997 hit Miami and proved he can also rap.
Writing on Reddit, one puzzled fan said: "Well any ideas I might have had for Bear have gone out of the window with this performance."
Another mused: "Okay wasn’t expecting the rapping!"
And a third said: "Bear sounds completely different from last week. I have decided that it is NOT Sir Ian McKellen."
A long goodbye
Masked Singer viewers who were watching at home tonight saw Macy Gray return to the stage moments after she walked off.
But in fact, it took show bosses almost an hour to convince her to go back and reveal her identity.
A whistleblower told The Sun: "This has never happened on The Masked Singer before.
“When Macy stormed off stage everyone was frozen in shock but as soon as she reached backstage, crew removed her mask so they could talk her down.
“Macy was almost shellshocked to start with and was basically gutted to be out so early because she really enjoyed being on the American version - when obviously she did brilliantly - so was totally blindsided."
Third time unlucky
It was third time unlucky for soul singer Macy Gray.
Tonight she was unmasked as Toad In The Hole and it's fair to say she didn't take the news of being booted out well.
This is possibly because it was Macy's THIRD shot at The Masked Singer - and each time she hasn't won.
The US star took part in Australia's version of the contest as Atlantis in 2021, then as wild card Sea Queen in the American version in 2023.
Macy was kicked out of the Australian series in episode six and finished fourth in the States. She was third out the door over here...
Awkward ending
Well, I think it's fair to say that Macy Gray wasn't happy about being voted off so early in the competition.
First she stormed off stage when her name was announced, then she gave one-word answers to the judges and Joel.
To be honest, she didn't really have to say anything. Her face said a thousand words!
Mask's off!
Toad In The Hole's mask if off and it is...Macy Gray!
The judges got it right!
Bit of a diva though, right?!
Time's up!
Toad In The Hole has been asked to leave by the judges.
They claim it's because they know who she is and want to see if they are right.
I'm not sure she's going to be quite so unforgiving though!
Big ending
Are you ready for a dramatic ending?
I hope so, as you've definitely got one coming!
Without giving too much away when there is just minutes to go, the singer who is told to leave is NOT happy.
Eek....!
Final clues
Bear and Toad In The Hole are eagerly awaiting the results, while we are left to mull over two final clues.
A red herring and a denim wash bag.
Neither are wildly helpful, Joel, I shan't lie....
