Inside Scott Thomas’s struggle as ‘least successful’ brother in famous family as he makes Love Island return

SCOTT Thomas secretly struggled being known as the "least successful brother" in his famous family before making finding fame on Love Island.

The 36-year-old's twin Adam found fame aged 18 as Donte Charles in Waterloo back in 2006.

He was following in the footsteps of their big brother Ryan who had launched his career on Coronation Street as Jason Grimshaw six years previously.

Meanwhile Scott was a studious student with no desire to be a performer.

Instead, he went on to spend his early adulthood as a self-proclaimed party boy with the alter ego "Scotty Special".

Working as a club promoter in Manchester, Scott hosted boozy parties - but often got so drunk he would be kicked out of his own events.

When the opportunity to star in Love Island series two came knocking in 2016, Scott turned to his brothers for permission to sign up.

An insider told The Sun: "Behind closed doors, Ryan and Adam weren't happy about Scott's venture into reality TV.

"They knew Scott wanted to make his brothers proud and find his own fame and fortune.

"He always considered himself the least successful Thomas sibling and felt pressure to impress.

"Love Island appeared like to perfect opportunity to step out of his brothers' shadows, but at the time, there was a real snobby attitude from people in the industry towards people who went on those types of shows."

Scott reached the Love Island final with then-girlfriend Kady McDermott.

The pair dated for two years before eventually calling it quits.

Scott went on to become a content creator and boss of his own social media company.

He's now ready for round two of Love Island as he joins the All Stars line-up nine years after his first stint.

Speaking at the time about his brothers feelings towards his reality TV career, Scott said:

"My brothers are like my best mates and obviously they were a little bit cautious.

"They want to be taken seriously as actors, especially now my brother Ryan is leaving Coronation Street. They don't want the Scotty Special ballooning on reality TV.

"The one thing they said is to be careful when I have a drink because obviously that's when I let myself down sometimes."
