Heartbroken Married At First Sight’s Nathan reveals truth behind split and says ‘she dumped me & now I’m scared to date’
HEARTBROKEN Married At First Sight star Nathan Campbell has revealed the truth behind his split with Lacey Martin.
Fans were left shocked when the strongest couple on the latest series of MAFS revealed they had broken up.
Throughout their time on season 9, Lacey, 27, and Nathan, 24, delighted E4 fans with their blossoming romance, which even saw the pair declare "I Love You" to each other.
However, not long after the series ended, The Sun exclusively revealed that the couple had secretly split shortly after filming wrapped.
Our source said at the time: “Nathan and Lacey really tried to make their relationship work in the real world but it just fizzled after a while.
"The final vows were filmed in February and they were still going strong in April when the reunion was shot, but since then they have called in quits.

"They were both sad it didn't work out, but sadly it wasn't meant to be.
"It's also a big blow for fans who were really invested in their relationship.
"They were widely viewed as the strongest couple of the series so the news that they are no longer an item is such a shame."
Shortly after their break-up was revealed, Lacey spoke to The Sun and told us that she feared Nathan was "faking" the romance the whole time, just for the cameras.
In an exclusive interview, she said: "It does make me question if the whole thing was fake on his part.
"I was just like, 'why do you care about how you're looking?' I feel like he just lacked passion for me and passion for our relationship.
"Throughout the experiment, thinking back, he would always say, 'oh, I want to be the nice guy. I just want to be the nice guy'.
"But I didn't realise that until after the experiment. And then I started thinking about our relationship more.
"He just cared about his image and how he looked and how he would come across rather than what's right.
However, now Nathan has broken his silence on the break-up and revealed that he is in fact the one who has been left "brokenhearted".
Speaking exclusively to The Sun at a showbiz event last night, he said: "Things weren’t the same off the show, it was very different.
"I’d always have to go there, she wouldn’t come to see me – those kind of arguments. I’m not too sure, things were quite different after the show.
I’m scared to date again, I want to but my heart's still broken.

"When you’re together, you’re 100 per cent in the same place.
"But after the experiment there was a big distance there.”
Asked who's idea it was to break-up, Nathan said: “She decided, she said let’s just be friends.”
Speaking about how he was feeling post break-up, Nathan said: “I’m scared to date again, I want to but my hearts still broken.
"I definitely do want to date again but there’s no one yet."
Lacey also spoke to The Sun last night and she told us: “I left him [Nathan] in 2024, to me this is a new slate. I am single.
"He’s not worth it. I’m just doing my thing, I believe in the universe, if I’m meant to meet someone then I will.

"I like meeting people organically – I’m a bit old school. I don’t like dating apps.”
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn't keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam's Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: “I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out - and excited for everything to come.”
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: “I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
"While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
“The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if I signed up?’
“A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.”
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna's vegan lifestyle, the show's first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: "We're not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship."
