ITV cancels hit dating show My Mum, Your Dad after two series – due to national shortage of DILFs
ITV's hit dating show My Mum, Your Dad has been shelved due to a nationwide shortage of hot middle-aged men.
The hit programme, hosted by Davina McCall, was set to start filming this spring - but they struggled after appealing for more mature fellas to come forward.
So the channel took the difficult decision to park the programme - at least until next year - in the hope that more blokes might become available.
A TV insider said: "Strangely there were lots of stunning women in the 45 to 65 bracket who wanted to take part, but a sad dearth of men who fitted the bill.
"This was a problem they encountered in 2024 when they tried to make the second series and just about managed to get enough candidates together.
"But when it came to the third outing they realised it was just going to be too difficult, and decided taking a break might be the best option."

The show, which launched in 2023, aimed to bring together older mums and dads who'd previously been in relationships and were looking to find love again.
Living together in a large house, they are observed and occasionally assisted by their kids who see all the romances develop from a secret room in the building.
The show was a hit for ITV, and was a very welcome return for Davina in her first solo presenting role in some time.
A spokesman for ITV said: "My Mum, Your Dad achieved a fantastic audience response across its two series, and the show's boxsets continue to deliver a strong performance on ITVX.
"There are currently no plans for a new series in 2025 owing to other priorities in our schedule, but we may revisit the show at some point beyond that."
