How Rio and Kate Ferdinand went to extreme lengths to avoid her ex Dan Edgar as they support Rio’s brother Anton at DOI

KATE Ferdinand avoided an awkward run-in with her “cheating” ex, Dan Edgar, on Dancing on Ice.

Onlookers claimed they spotted her arriving two hours late to Dancing On Ice with her husband Rio Ferdinand, ready to watch his brother Anton compete.

Kate, 33 and Dan, 34 were together for six years, in what pals said was a “toxic on and off romance”.

The pair finally split for good in 2017 and Kate later moved on with Rio, 46.

Kate arrived at the show with Rio on Sunday night to support Anton, 39.

A source told The Sun: “Kate and Rio turned up two hours later than the other friends and family and it seemed like they made a late entrance to avoid any run-ins with Dan.

“They were supposed to be there between 2:50pm and 3:30pm but slinked in at 5:50pm.

“When the show ended, Kate and Rio didn’t stay for a drink with Anton afterwards, and made a sharp exit as Dan was propping up the VIP.”

They added: “When they were in the audience Kate and Rio also didn’t clap for Dan when he was talking to Holly and Stephen but they did for everyone else.

“Kate and Dan couldn't have been more than 15 metres apart in the studio.

“She looked so cool and relaxed though. Kate didn’t seem bothered in the slightest but her not clapping was noticed by a few people around us.”

Anton was partnered up with pro skater Annette Dytrt and they made their debut to Beggin’ by Maneskin.

They scored 26, just over half of the possible score of 40.

Kate and Rio beamed with pride as they watched Anton and Annette receive glowing comments from the judges.

The couple started dating in 2017 and tied the knot two years later in a plush wedding at the Maris Bay Hotel in Turkey.

The pair have a blended family of five children, with their children Cree, four, and Shae, one, along with Rio’s three children, Lorenz, 18, Tate, 15 and Tia, 13, from his marriage to his late wife Rebecca.

The Sun first revealed that Dan and Kate were dating after they met in Ibiza in 2010 – and their romance later played out on ITVBE show Towie.

They were hit with cheating rumours during their romance and Kate revealed Dan had told other members of the Towie cast that they were on and off.

She later confirmed he dumped her completely out of the blue in 2015 before they gave their romance another go.

Kate and Dan ended their relationship for good the following year in 2016.
