The Traitors’ Linda breaks her silence on shock axe and admits ‘I’m an airhead and didn’t have a strategy’
OPERA singer Linda Rands was toppled as a TV Traitor tonight and admitted: “I’m not as good a liar as I thought!”
The 70-year-old’s wooden efforts to deceive the Faithfuls on the murder mystery saw her rumbled — and banished from Ardross Castle.
It brought to an end a stint that saw the viewers’ favourite honoured by the BBC with a tongue-in-cheek “Golden Cloak” billboard in Leicester Square.
Producers conferred the “performance of a lifetime award” — a nod to the recent Golden Globes — after she had avoided eviction ahead of Dan Bird, 33.
Linda has been under suspicion from early on in the Claudia Winkleman-hosted hit.
Fans asked how she lasted so long despite her melodramatic acting.

She said: “I didn’t really have a strategy — I think it was just to not let people know I was a Traitor and I’m really proud I made it as far as I did.
“I’d talked about being a mother figure but I played the jokey person more, and that did work. I’m a bit of an airhead so that came over as well.”
The show continues tomorrow night on BBC One at 9pm.

How does The Traitors work and who hosts it?
The Traitors first launched in the UK in 2022, after the Dutch format was acquired by the BBC.

How does it work?
It is a reality game show that involves 22 contestants, and some of them are chosen to be The Traitors.
The Traitors sees a group of contestants taking part in "the ultimate game of truth and deception".
The group of contestants are competing for the chance to walk away with a huge cash prize.
While navigating through a series of challenges, the team are also tasked with figuring out who the Traitors are in the group (usually three contestants).
Each night, the Traitors gather to "eliminate" one of the Faithful, removing them from the competition
Meanwhile, the traitors can be "banished" if they’re successfully outed as a traitor by a faithful.
The winners of the show are either the Traitor who remains undetected or the Faithfuls if they successfully eliminate all the Traitors.
The prize sees the winner could get £120K.
